Technically, a person can open a shop and advertise such skills. But any unauthorized hacking will be prosecuted, AREM! |

Well, actually, hacking is perfectly legal, cracking/phreaking isn't.
Hacking is working with computers.
Cracking is hacking to break into unauthorized computer or data.
Phreaking is Cracking with the intention of destroying/defacing data. Computer vandalism.
But the US government does have a few cracker on the budget, especially in time of war. Bill Clinton had US crackers attack computers while soldiers attacked military equipment/personell. Taking down banks, atms, telephone, tv, satalite, and other networked items can be crucial.
But in this war, the crackers worked on their own mostly. Al Jazeera can testify to that. |
