Hehe.. my best friend(yes a boy) told me that a guy would never kiss me if I got my lip pierced.. now that would solve all my problems/fears!~ lol..

My sister once got a lip ring without my parents permisson. They got really mad and made her take it out. I thought it looked really cool , so did everyone at her school and everyone at my school. Everyone did but my parents.

I have numerous peircings in my ears, but the best peircing i have is in my eyebrow. a week before my bday i got it done. it's awesum!!! it doesnt hurt, and it's great no one i hang out with has one, cuz i hate when everyone has the same things.
AND i definately asked my parents if i could do it, i dont think they thought i was actually gonna do it. they dont like it, my dad wouldnt even look at me when he was talking to me, but ahh i think it's grown on them.. hah.. or not

I'm extremely surprised that everyone's so supportive of such (well, you said honest opinion) utter nonsense! Your request for not using the Bible is confusing at best... isn't God's opinion the most important? That said, the Bible does not directly address lip rings, but it still provides insight into the situation.

Personally? I think they are ugly and are used simply to draw attention to the wearer (as in little kids pointing to people as they walk down the sidewalk and saying, "Look, daddy! That boy has a rod stuck above his eye!"). Some will call it a fashion statement and, well, it definitely is a statement. Many wear things like this as a sign of rebellion. Great thing to advertise...

Sticking a rod or ring above your eye, on your lip, or on your tongue is disgusting, useless, difficult (I cannot imagine eating while wearing a tongue ring!), alienating (the types of friends that would be best for you may not enjoy having a close friend with a lip ring, after all...) and most importantly, not pleasing to God. Our bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit... they aren't ours and that should be remembered before covering it with tattoos and rings.

ok.. just lemme get this out too...

It's not that I don't want God's opinion or that I don't respect God in this situation.. I am just looking for personal people opinions ok??

thanks,

I need to ask you, Jared... how is a lip ring fundimentally different from a earing? Apart from the placement. Sure we have some silly societal things about where to put rings, but that sure isn't out of the Bible. The Bible talks a lot about not adorning ourselves too much, but not about not actually piercing or tatooing.

Besides, when it says that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, how exactly does it qualify that? Does it say "don't go skiing because you might hurt yourself"? or "Don't put a lip ring in because your body doesn't need to have holes in it?" I think you're making a conclusion that doesn't readily come from the verses you claim support your position.

And as such, thank you for you personal opinion :)

I, on the other hand (or lip if you will), think lip rings look very nice.

I can't say that I find piercings other than the regular ear piercings all too attractive, but I really don't have a problem with them or whatever. Confused

ear piercing is cool...
belly piercing...I don't have any problem with
eyebrow piercing looks ugly...
tongue piercing...awful...
any other part of the boy piercing...kinda pointless...

At first I agreed with Jared... but then if you think of the ear piercing, then you kinda think it's the same thing as tongue piercing and it's alright. What if it wasn't the same thing? Maybe because everyone deos it then it makes it right and ear piercing deosn't seem bad. IT deosn't matter who deos it.
But...imagine this: What if you made this really big nice golden and pure statues that you were really proud of. But then, your sister or brother began putting holes and stuff in them. Would you seriously like your creation to have holes and stuff in it?
It's the same thing with God. Were marking up his work. WE might think its nice and overtime it's okay and we began to spread the holes to the eyebrows and the tongues and the lips and so on but deos God?

Sure, it might seem a little overboard but if you really think about it...
