What version of the Bible do you use? List it if it's not already in the poll.
This could make for an _intersting_ discussion later on. :)
Peace Out

| I really really like the New Living Translation!! I have a friend who is a bible translator of 20 years, and he says its the closest version to the original writtings (translated the best). |

Hehe... This again.
Between Bible versions and Christian music discussions, we could get this board FULL of angry, seething people... :)
I use the King James. I have studied the Bible version issue and find it to be the most accurate and the most powerful version available in English. Some of the other versions make me wince with their agendas, but not all of them. Some were translated by fine people; I just don't think that the translation is as good as the KJV.
I am NOT, repeat NOT, a Ruckmanite or anything like that. They are a tiny, tiny fringe minority of those who use King James Bibles. I use it simply because I believe it is the most accurate and most reverential translation. |

I must say Jared...that your explanations is the same as mine would be. Therefore I need not give any further explanations. I sort of agree with this bumper sticker I saw the other day. "If it ain't King James, it ain't Bible." |

Interesting....
I saw one that stated "If it aint country, it aint music".
Of course I happen to disagree somewhat on that .... |

I've also seen a bumper stick that said "If you aren't Dutch, you aren't much." I don't know what it has to do with the Bible.
I use the KJV, NKJV, NIV, NASB, NLT....and a book of Mormon of my roomates to prop up the couch ;)
"Therefore, as St. Augustine saith, that variety of translations is profitable for the finding out of the sense of the Scriptures: so diversity of signification and sense in the margin, where the text is not so clear, must needs do good, yea, is necessary, as we are persuaded." - King James Translators

| I like the NIV better. It's more paraphrased and easier to understand. |

| I prefer the (N)KJV, but also use TEV on occasion to help clarify complex/confusing verses... |
