I think I've read all the books.. that's WHY I'm single.. I dunno. I don't care about dating right now.. I mean, I'm probably leaving in 9 months.. and if a relationship isn't going to last MORE than 9 months(since I'm only dating to find a husbamd) then why bother..
lol
I really don't know what my problem is.. I'm sooo I dunno.. sour to dating..

i agree with laura and marlene. I agree with laura in that a) it's REALLY hard to know what God wants...I always find myself in prayer saying something like, say "yes" or "no" God, how hard is it? and then sometimes it's like a "yes" in my mind, sometimes a "no"...and i know it was just me sticking the word in there. I also agree with Laura in b) if you're probably going to Ireland for a year in the near future pursuing a relationship is kinda pointless. I'm curious though...if you had just met someone that really made an impression on you, WOULD you go to Ireland?
I agree with Marlene, cuz yes it's really hard to know what God wants for you, but IT'S NOT IMPOSSIBLE. It can't be impossible. otherwise how on earth could we have as many happy marriages as the world does have? But the only way to know is to talk to God a lot. This is where i think a lot of people stumble. We ask God to let us know what to do, but in reality how much time do we actually spend talking to Him???
I know i don't spend nearly enough time in conversation with the Father. And when you don't, you don't get to hear His end of it. It's like you run up to someone and ask them a question and then run away before they can answer it.
I also think it's much easier to tell God's will in a specific situation. With a specific person. Reading the leading of your heart regarding a person is possible...trying to imagine what you SHOULD feel like when you find mr. or miss right? how?
just some thoughts.

If you aren't sure, pray and ask, and if you still aren't sure, then keep praying. When you still feel the same thing, then its probably God.

As crazy as it may seem i would agree with hawkeye& all the rest. It is so true that we are not in communication with our Lord enouph, which is kinda stupid on our part, because he has all the answers. Prayer is so important. The Lord Jesus prayed for hours on end to His Father. But also we must read. I did not relize this to my self till l8r when someone started sendin me texts. God has given us so many of the answers to questions about life in His word. Sometimes we have to read in to the texts, sometimes its bein thrown at us. But This is His method of communicatino with us, through Prayer, readin His word, But also influincing the final decision we make. What ever the result we must also remember that it is in Gods GOOD plan.
Jer. 29:11
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.
and a well know one
Psm 119:105
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.
Well ther are some thoughts for now

someone told me last summer about a thought they had:
we want to get answers from God, right? what is His primary wayof speaking to us? The Bible, of course.
So often, however, in the course of our devotions, we read the Bible and THEN we pray for guidance...does that not seem a little out of order???
not that praying after reading is wrong, or anything...but perhaps we should be praying for the answers we want BEFORE we read.
