It does? That's strange... did you perhaps sign up for a trial of the "Gold Version" of chess.net instead of getting the free version? The tournament will likely go longer than two weeks. We may have to work something out here to get you in the right membership category.
And, thanks to everyone who has joined so far. And everyone else, remember: we still need more people! |

| You mean CNFW is free and the account lasts for more than 2 weeks? Maybe they thought I wanted to sign up for the Gold Member version. How did you sign up, Bennett? |

I've been looking into this...
Unfortunately, they apparently are not letting new free members join. So you just get a free trial, then your account runs out!
We'll have to find a new place to play.
There are numerous choices, such as freechess.org, but they are a little more difficult, as you need outside software. Still, we'll get this to work. I'll get information for everyone on where we can play in a day or two.
Sorry about this! |

Hopefully it will work out though... |

Well, I'll drop the time control requirement, which opens up Yahoo! Games and MSN Gaming Zone.
Basically, I'll allow people to decide where they want to play their games. So, if you get assigned to play against someone within a week's time, you find out where it will work best, then you meet them there at a time you two plan... and play!
Just report the result of the game back to me.
We have seven people signed up now... I'd LIKE to get at least one more... anyone else interested in playing? (More than one person is great as well, of course!) |

I'll just make sure I joined... and I forgot to post the required answers, so here they are:
-- What chess server you use: Yahoo! Games
-- mirkwood_elf11
-- What your rating is... 1040 or something, but I think that's not accurate since almost all the games I played there were with my friend who was REALLY good. In fact, I think the only losses I got there are from the games I played with him. Hehe. |
