This might be Ontopic actually a bit but that point can be very much debatable.
There are three major competitions to Odyssey. I didn't count that little kid drama and Radio theatre. I counted the mostly targeted 8-16 series and 'Dramas' only that has a series to it. [Made sence? No? Sweet.]
A work in progress: This one, made me fall asleep...nothin much to say.
Down Gilead's lane: This one is very good, but nothing much happens and the voices confuse me.
Just South of Normal: This one is the best. It's extremmely funny and has a good story to it. I also enjoy many of the voices. But the website isn't very good and they make one episode per month. [ps. their fan club won't work.] |

Just South of Normal, definitely. But still...
Let's see. I've heard very little of "A Work in Progress." Once I determined that they had not yet learned the art of properly using music, sound effects or non-contrived sounding scripts, I moved on to listening to other things.
Down Gilead Lane is aimed at younger kids... technically, the age range is probably similar to the 8-12 target ages for AIO, but Odyssey has definitely appealed to people above that range, while Down Gilead Lane has not. Also, focusing on a single family is a good way to limit plotlines.
Just South of Normal was (is?) a very interesting drama. Extremely good music, rather good acting (although Tim was unconvincingly done, I thought) and quite interesting scripts. I also developed additional like for the show when I got to know its creator/producer, Brad Dorsey, online and on the phone. I helped him figure out how to encode the broadcasts into RealMedia format and for a while, expected to be running the JSON website. He had sent me relevant files and data and I was working on the page, but it fell through... the drama rather fell out of sight, it seems. It's too bad, as it was a very interesting show! |

The only one I've heard is Down Gilead Lane. I really like it. If you follow the series, it is very exciting, yet they still bring the Word in to their shows. I give DGL a thumbs up.
What about Jungle Jam? I REALLY like that one, although our station no longer airs it. |

| I haven't heard any of them except for "Down Gilead Lane" which I think is okay but not great. The acting isn't the best to be completely honest. My personal favorite is "Jungle Jam" but I don't believe it's being made anymore, though I could be wrong since they recentely released their original two albums on CD and released a new one. My station (American Family Radio) doesn't play it to my knowledge. |
