Where were you on that day?
I was just about to head out of the door to school with my friends but then my mom demanded that we say home or else I was going to be grounded, and we asked why and she told me that the World Trande Center was hit, and she told me that there was no way that Jeff could have made it out alive, and so we sayed home and cryed all night.

[The previous post formerly contained this 9/11-related urban legend - JW]

u i got that one like months ago and either her mom sadly died or she got better by now. this could also be a hoax and where's the end of it? why isn't there one out there saying thanks for the help? and who's to say if they can track exactly how many people the email went to and why would they want to junk up the internet if they could give ten cents anyway?
just a few questions cuz i don't think this stuff is true. just some bored person out there trying to see if his email will make the news.

This is a HOAX! There is no way for the Red Cross to track your emails. And like su-z-q said, the Red Cross could just give the money if they have it, how is your forwarding the email going to give the Red Cross any money to give??? That would be cruel of them, if they had the money, to not just give it! Anyway, this is a classic hoax! And the person who should be very ashamed is the one who wrote it originally, to get "fun" out of the 9-11 tragedy! :( :x

Jeremy

EDIT: Here is a web page that explains that this is a hoax: http://urbanlegends.about.com/library/bljasmine.htm

Yep, as they've said, it's a hoax.

And IL_Queen, I don't appreciate you screaming at us and saying we should be ashamed of ourselves just because we don't buy into silly hoaxes.

The article linked has, I'm sure, lots if good information on this hoax, but let me give a few very, very basic things that should have tipped you off that this was false.

One, NO ONE, repeat, NO ONE, is currently hospitalized from the September 11th tragedy. The last person was released from hospital care almost a year ago.

Two, this little girl had two working parents, yet neither of their employers had insurance plans taken out for them? Yeah, sure, whatever...

Three, it's eighteen months since September 11th. If a person was losing blood for that long, well, the body does have a limited amount of blood, you know! A person will bleed to death in hours, not eighteen months!

Four, by law, hospitals are required to provide emergency care regardless of ability to pay. This lady could be penniless and the surgery could cost $200,000... and the hospital would still have to provide it free of charge.

Five, widows of September 11th victims are multimillionaires... I believe that the grand total comes to over $10 million per person who lost a spouce in the attacks. Now, how did this lady end up broke if she was given $10 million? Hard to answer, isn't it?

Six, the Red Cross is in the business of helping people. For them to only provide money if people agree to do something (forward emails), they are being immoral -- and absolutely idiotic.

Seven, I am so tired of hearing the email tracking thing. No one, repeat no one, and for good measure, one more time: NO ONE can track where an email gets forwarded! Besides, even if you buy into that nonsense, wouldn't posting it here instead of forwarding it via email defeat the purpose? Or do you believe that this amazing software can track where you paste the text as well?

IL_Queen, please refrain from posting any more email chain letters on these boards. We have room for a lot of discussion here, but not for sob story or horror story hoaxes.

Thank you for exposing this. . . more people need to know about email hoaxes. I've also been getting one about hotmail closing down, all sorts of things.

We weren't getting mad, just upset you keep falling for obvious hoaxes.

Having a heart is a great thing, but not having a head also isn't.
