Wow! A Totally Cool Mystery! Post Opinions on here about how you think it'll all turn out, and we'll see who's guessed it right.

Yes!! Good show!!

I have a few questions for those in the know:

Those lines with Tom and Agnus talking about her illness (I believe it was the dialogue with Tom saying something like "I have no regrets.") Where are they from?

How long have Tom and Agnus been married? I think there's a anamoly in the space-time continum here, Captain!

The episode in which Tom says "I have no regrets" is from The Other Woman.
I very much liked this show! The mystery was well built- up, and AIO's continuity was kept up. Agnes was kept in character.
All in all, Nathan Hoobler has done it again! I can't wait for Part 2!

Thanks!

"The other Woman" is one of my favorite shows. Knowing that part is included in the show just adds to it.

Oh, and hearing the extra of the "Thank You, God" show was a wonderful suprise!

I loved this episode. There was nothing I didn't like about it. It brought back the classic Odyssey mysteries. Congradulations, and thanks, for Nathan Hoobler.

Though, I'm sorta confused how all those years add up properly. She married Tom 12 years ago in "Thank-You God.' And in this episode, they were married 27 years...That means it's been 15 years since that episode until now...And connie aged only 2 years...hmm...

Excellent episode. If anyone complains about this one then I'll wack them. That;s just becoming too picky.

Overall a good episode. Looking forward to part 2. Only complaint - it was short. When the main part of the episode finished playing only 20 minutes had elapsed. (that included the built-in FotF commercials)

So who else thinks that Agnes was involved in a cult when she was younger, worshipping the great deity 'JO'? When this date rolled around, she was supposed to have done something to honor JO. JO also played into Tom's healing and once JO has been dealt with, Agnes will be sane again! (really big Smile for this one)

Seriously, though, one question came to mind - if Agnes and Tom met 1 year after Timmy's death and Agnes was new to town, why would she have set a place for him during the whole Novacom saga? She would never have had a chance to set a place for Timmy, let alone actually meet him.

Those are my thoughts (preparing to be whacked now). :-)

I thought it was VERY well done. It has me wondering what's going on and waiting with excitment for next week. It's nice to hear some good acting after the last few episodes. You can very much tell that Nathon is writing for us fans (the little mention of Jack, the inclusion of never-before-heard material ect). Keep up the good work Nathon!

This isn't meant to be a review in any way, shape or form... I'll probably write up a review for the HQ in a day or two. But here are a few quick observations:

OBSERVATION NUMBER ONE: Tom seemed to fit the role better this time than in the last few episodes that he appeared in. While I have no problem with the concept of the Timothy Center, I always think of Tom as the out in the country guy who works on his car a lot, fixes tractors and, when he could get away from the horses, was on the city council and later was mayor. Becoming mayor was a major jump for his character, but it worked. I still have reservations about the Timothy Center after all this time. But in The Pact, there were no extras. He didn't race home and run into Ben, who was having some trouble with the vents in cabin number two. He just went home. To a regular house. As a regular guy -- except for the fact that his mentally-ill wife had just run away because of "JO."

OBSERVATION NUMBER TWO: The episode moved along well. Mandy fit the role nicely, Whit helped out an old friend for the first time in a while, the Agnes storyline continues. Overall, nice.

OBSERVATION NUMBER THREE: Nineteen. That's how many minutes, with the short commercial break in between on the oneplace.com version, the episode took. It was nice to hear that never-aired scene, but I would have preferred five more minutes of episode. Or at least three or four more, as the 24 minute mark has only been reached a few times (I think "Amazing Grace" made it there and possibly one of the "Patrick: Heart of Fire" eps).

OBSERVATION NUMBER FOUR: Concerning the speculation about what "JO" could mean and what the whole "mystery" could be about, I would submit that while Agnes declared that "JO" could not be initials, she never said it wasn't a name. Jo is a woman's name, after all. And, at one point toward the end, Mandy actually said "Jo" instead of "JO" [letters said as in initials]. Additionally, I believe I heard it said that way in the "next time on Adventures in Odyssey" section. This indicates that Agnes is going to see a lady named Jo. And she has apparently known her for quite a long time. The pact in question obviously has to do with their meeting (Did they promise to meet once per decade? Is it just a renewal of a long-distance friendship or is there more to it?).

OBSERVATION NUMBER FIVE: It was said in an above post that Agnes had just married Tom recently at the time of "Thank You, God." I don't believe this was ever said. On the contrary, I imagine that they had been married for quite a while. The never-before-aired clip revealed that Jenny Whittaker had invited Agnes to church in Odyssey. And remember, Whit bought the building AFTER Jenny's death and had owned it for a long time by the time Connie came on the scene.

OBSERVATION NUMBER SIX: In another post here, it was asked why Agnes "remembers" Timmy even though she and Tom met after Timmy's death. I believe this is explained in one of the episodes, but I'm not sure... Anyway, the logical answer is that what Tom always told her about Timmy became a part of HER memory when she started to have mental troubles.

OBSERVATION NUMBER SEVEN: Agnes... hitchhiking? It doesn't quite fit the character... but, there's nothing at all wrong with that in this case. Desperate times lead to desperate measures and Mrs. Riley sure seems desperate.

OBSERVATION NUMBER EIGHT: Kind of strange that Agnes remembered about "JO" even though she obviously couldn't have found what she was looking for in the Hillingdale Haven library. (Unless they keep replicas of her diaries in there or something...) So, she remembered by herself. That sounds like some progress for her, doesn't it?

OBSERVATION NUMBER NINE: That indeed was a wide assortment of book genres represented by what Agnes took down off the shelves. Obviously, there was no connection made clear in the episode. The idea was the red covers with gold lettering. But, here are the book titles: Different Seasons, The Four Million, Taxes Made Easy, The Good Investment Guide and Of Mice and Men. The first one was unknown to me, so I looked it up. It's a Steven King novel... a kind of strange selection. And, are horror stories usually stocked in homes for those with diminished mental capabilities? They keep NEWSPAPERS out of those places... I don't think the horror genre quite fits there! "The Four Million" better fits what I would expect at a place like that. It's William Sydney Porter (O. Henry)'s second and most famous collection of stories. The Gift of the Magi and The Furnished Room are two well-known stories in this book. Certainly, there's no connection between those two books. Gary Carter's "Taxes Made Easy" ought to be pretty self-explanatory, as should "The Good Investment Guide." Certainly, those titles aren't murky and ambiguous. And finally, there's the old classic, "Of Mice and Men." An observation: while "The Four Million" and "Of Mice and Men" have doubtless appeared in many published forms, quite possibly including being bound in a red cover with gold lettering, the others are still under their first publisher and their covers are not designed as such, as best as I can ascertain from online bookstores. So, why THESE books? Were they books Nathan had recently read? Books suggested by the staff?

OBSERVATION NUMBER TEN: Everyone seems to think that this was a quite good episode... and I'm no exception! Good job, Nathan!

I have some quesses for why the ep was so short
Nathon probably came up with an idea for an episode. After writing it he found that it was to long for a 1 parter, but he had enough for 1 and 2/3 parts. He decided to leave the more intersesting half for the second ep. He also decided that instead of writing more scenes with Agnes saying "I can't remember what I should be doing or what is soposed to happen today", he just threw in some never-before-heard clips from past eps.
