|
Okay, eren't some of you other Odyssey fans sick and tired at how Focus on the Family advertises Odyssey? They put these little baby designs and stuff. I mean, just look at the official website!
Eugene: Hi Kids, come and try the great Imagination Station! Wow!
That's why the aiohq.com site is so cool. It deosn't make it look like it's for 9 year olds. One big thing that makes it look young are the videos. I was reading an AIO passages book and some christian comes up and sees the Odyssey sign. He asks:
"Isn't that Odyssey for little kids?"
I had so much of a hard time prooving to him that the book wasn't for 9 year olds. I also can't introduce some of my friends to Odyssey when they hear Chris on the show,
"Hi Kids! Welcome to Adventures in Odyssey!!.....Did you find Whit funny?...Oh My!!...Can he be stopped! Everything is going so wrong! " (stuff like that.) She sounds really fake.
Even when I was young I never enjoyed the designs and Chris. Lately though, they've been doing better in everything.
The Ages are 8 and up! It used to be 8 to 12, but they don't say that much anymore...good! |

First, AIO should get more serious-looking albums. Abandon the cartoonish look for well-drawn, professional, more serious-looking cover art. Secondly, have Dave Arnold introduce the shows. Thirdly, have the AIO "ads" that are in the middle of eps at oneplace.com done by someone who can speak a little... well, dramatically. No more wheezing clowns or whatever. And no ads for that frog "drama."
Then, get dramatical music. Nothing in the least bit whimsical... go for the Radio Theatre theme style. Add some characters with Orson Wells-type voices that can make the show more mysterious.
And get rid of Wooton.
Okay, seriously, these aren't that important...
I'd like Focus to not market so many little kid AIO products that confuse people about the actual radio show, but there's not much to be done about that, really. They're not going to stop. It's a moneymaker and gets the message out to younger kids.
I'd like the cartoonish drawings on the album covers to be replaced with something a little more serious. But it's not a huge issue.
And I'm probably going to cause yet another rift here, but I'd like to see (hear, actually) a more serious announcer. Dave Arnold seemed great for the job, but why not let the producers -- and writers -- rotate on it? We can hear the whole staff that way! :)
And the AIO music is wonderful, by the way. |

| Okay, I probably agree with most of that. Except Chris. Odyssey just wouldn't be Odyssey if Chris wasn't on it. I strongly disagree with that point and I hope that they continue to have Chris announce it in the future. Now that's not to say that I think they should have her say foolish things like "Hey kids!", "Don't go away! The Adventures begin right after this!" and the ever popular "That address again is..." okay, so I'm just kidding about that last one. Chris has done a wonderful job at being serious when she needed to be. I just strongly disagree that they should get rid of Chris or even replace her at the beginning of each show. |

I realise that I am being very picky here. But I wish they could get rid of Dylan. He REALLY makes it youngish. Dave Arnold WOULD be a great choice, especially after his hosting for Radio Theatre, but Chris has been doing it too long to leave. I just wish she'd treat the show a bit older.
Jared, that dramatic music for Odyssey isn't too important. It's perfectly fine how it is right now. I actually don't like the beggining of the theme of Radio theatre. "Dum-dum dum..." ...that part, you know, when it first starts and winds down to the main tune of the theme. |

| I don't think the music should change. I like the whimsical feel. I do agree about the cartoons. I think though that the new covers are an improvement to the old ones. |

| Chris only treats the show like a "kids show" because she's directed to. I can think of a lot of really great episodes that she brought a lot of force to it. Episodes like "Karen" and others automatically come to mind. She can be very serious when the show calls for it. Anyway, that's my vote. |

| I think it would be cool if they launched a new animated series, with totally different animation and stuff. If nothing else, it would be kinda cool to see some of the best episodes of the radio show converted to cartoon. |
