I'm renting a copy of the new Jonah:A Veggie Tales Movie (the local Blockbuster/Hollywood video has a lot of them here) and I'm at a loss for words.

I knew they guys a Big Idea were silly. I didn't expect this.

IF you haven't seen the movie, rent this. The movie is okay, kind of like a long version of the videos. But the extras. Oh....the extras.

Where to start: extras include the Pixar-like "Outtakes" (in English and Spanish), a long countertop scene meant as a promo that gets progressively stranger, Khalil's answering machine, making of commentarys, and the Easter Eggs include an interview with Bob and Larry, as well as the French Peas getting kicked out of the theathers while watching movie (this Egg had my roomate doubling over)

But, the audio commentary with Larry and Mr. Lunt is worth the price alone. It is truely the most bizaare, random, "where'd they get that" commentary ever. You'll have to pause it at least once so you don't shoot milk out of your nose.

I know there are Veggie fans here, so I invite you to check this out. It sets a standard on DVD Extras.

I just baught the VHS, I wished you wouldv'e said it before I baught it but whatever. I find the Movie really funny. My favorite part is when they're playing the 'Go fish game' and when the whale pulls the ship. The best song is when Larry and Mr. Lunt start signing the song that went along with the Ping-Pong game.
I find at some parts it couldv'e been better, especially where they decided to sick the VeggieTale's characters. I mean, Mr. Nezzar didn't to a thing, and I thought that he would be the king of Ninevah. Jimmy and Jerry were seperate, and Jimmy didn't even talk in the movie. Percy and that other girl weren't even nessecary. I thought that the Ninevites would be the french peas.
The VHS has the Outakes. They're halarious. The most halarious scenes are the one with the Car going into the underwear, but instead of underwear...(*SPOLIER.). And when Junior is listening to Pirate Lunt 'add lib.' which is really funny.

It's a good movie but I don't think it's nomminated for an academy award. (Which ticks me off, well, the animation was the best though...)

We rented the VHS and loved it. I saw it in theaters as well and loved it both times

I can't wait to see the dvd! It better be funny. I love two disk sets. I thought it was wonderful a Christian group made a movie. That's more than FOTF would do! Disagree or agree with me here.

My neighbors just bought the DVD, so I'm going to have to get over there soon and see it. . . It sounds great though! I talked to them this afternoon and they said it's hilarious.

I definately like Big Idea's stuff a lot more than FOTF video wise, but it's not bad either (FOTF). That's ok, though, because Odyssey makes up for it. Very Happy

You didn't tell me these posts would contain spoilers! But that's okay. I am sure I will still thoroughly enjoy the first full-length Veggie Tale movie. I intend to get the DVD the next time I'm in Wal-Mart!

FOTF is trying to copy by making a 'Hopper's landing' or something like that...

You must be talking about "Ribbits", the first episode of which is "The Hero of Hoppers Landing".

John Beebee is involved with that by the way, and it's all computer generated graphics. It's a good show for children, but it lacks the music/jokes that Veggie Tales has and it's more obvious what the values the writers want you to take out of it than Odyssey is. The second episode should be out fairly soon (the first was released a long time ago), but while it appears it's a direct competitor with Veggie Tales... Veggie Tales is far to big of a fish (pardon the pun) for "Ribbits" to ever take on.

AHAHAHAHAHAH The DVD ROCKED! IT was SO funny - TICKLE ME PROPHET - HA! And the French Peas-----I almost died! Who says the veggies are for little kids only.
