This episode has been getting a lot of good reviews lately...and mine won't be any different!!! I absolutely loved this episode especially with Wooten in it. I am so glad we could hear about his family. Talia did sound like somebody who needed to loosen up a little. Whit even played a part in this! Wooten's culinary skills could use work--cornchip casserole with marshmallows and watermelon jelly beans? Hmmm, I don't blame Talia for turning it down. It was funny. Laughing This "For the FUN of It" episode was actually one that I laughed through. Good job AIO!

Does noone feel the same way as me? Do they feel the this season has been really bad and this ones just another one like the others? I disliked this episode because of Wooton. He was just as bad as usual, almost every scene had him in it. I thought Talia was good and I enjoyed the some-what creppy voice of her father, though he sounded a bit confused at times. Whit was so funny in the "chase" scene at the end, wonderful acting there. As always, I loved the part at the beggining before the theme. One of the best parts in the episode.

Acting: Enjoyable!

Music: I didn't listen to the music much. I love the new theme and the end title's music.

Script: Coming from Torry Martin, it was passable. It had a few laughs, so it wasn't quite the worst of the season.

I hope this "dry season" only lasts for this season!

BTW, Nathan, I am really looking forward to "The Pact," escipally after this one!

I really liked this episode. It was nice to have an episode that you could laugh at all the way through, instead being held in suspence. But then, I like all episodes with Wooten in them; I think he is a great character and I don't quite see why some people don't like him.

I liked "For the Fun of It". It was really great. In some ways I felt sorry for Talia, for having such an overbearing parent. If my parents told me I couldn't read at the table, I don't know what I would do (excapt I don't do it if we have company). I didn't like Wooten at first, but I do now (part of that is because I happen to love practical jokes!). This season hasn't been as good as the last, but it's been, for the most part, ok. So far, and this will probably change, I think For the Fun of It, was the best show so far this season.

I agree completely. This season has been rather dry. I'm going to be forced to compare "Friends, Family, and Countrymen" to either "Through Thick and Thin" or "Virtual Realities". They both had a lot of good shows but only one or two great shows that made them worth buying. The much anticipated "American Revelation" (first real history show since Telemachus in Vol. 32) was a major dud (thanks to it's political statement instead of it's Biblical statement) and the rest of the shows were mainly slice-of-life (though most are good one) and clean-ups from the NovaCom thing (Between You and Me, Benifit of the Doubt, etc.) that were mainly dull. They really felt like the writers wanted to do a transition from NovaCom back to "normal" Odyssey but weren't quite sure how.

Then there are the 2 episodes that are going to sell this album. "BTV: Obedience" and "The Pact", which I'm sure will be wonderful coming from this writer (no, not flattery, fact. Nathan was a fan once, he knows how we think and I don't think he's going to dissapoint us. He hasn't yet!).

I really hope AIO goes back to the Vol. 29-32 precedure. In those albums, we got big storylines (1-3 shows), a history show, usually a variety show, a Bible story, a mystery, and usually an action show. The abandoned this format in album 33 and 34 and 35-38 were mainly NovaCom storylines. I sure hope they go back to that idea. Those four albums are what I consider the "2nd golden age" of Odyssey.

Now don't get me wrong, this album seems to be pointing the way back to that. We have all of the above in this album (Bible, variety, storylines, mystery, and history anyway) but I just don't think they're quite back up to where they were Vol. 29-32 yet.

Okay, I'll stop now. I'm sort of off topic and I need to save my full review till I get the album...

BTW, did anyone else notice the note on this episode at the HQ? It's going to be included in album 40 (no real surprise). Ever notice how AIO goes through stages of leaving episodes out of albums? Vol. 20-28 we didn't see any missed shows. Then they skipped "Christmas Around the World" and 29-33 there weren't any skipped episodes. Then they skipped a whole slue of them. Then album 35-40 (so far) they haven't skipped any... Wierd.
