This reminds me of my school....you can`t say anything to anyone for fear you will offend some individual or organization. I think we should refrain from saying anything intended to be mean or derrogatory, however, if something is obviously meant in fun, why immediately go after the person who said it? I am sure that all of us, at some time or another are inclined to joke or make harmless comments. It`s up to the other party to take it the wrong way.

I wasn't aware that LOTR was the topic of discussion... I thought we were talking about whether or not this was someone's "life's desire."

And while we're on the topic, Robin, do you ever stop insulting me? Just because you don't like that I'm mayor doesn't mean that you should drag it into every message you post with that large, annoying signature!

[Okay, actually, I'm fine with jokes, I'm fine with you opposing me. But really, I do dislike that signature. Not because I'm its target, but because it's big and annoying...]

I have complained a little about the tendency of every post to turn to that topic, but I have no problem with people talking about it and you know that. We chat outside of this board on Instant Messenger and there are no problems, but when we get back here, you're mad at me again.

I'm not mad at anyone at this board. I really don't THINK you are either, but if you are, please let me know. It's not been my intention to make anyone angry and I didn't think my comments - my poor attempt at humor, I suppose - really would. I've reread some of the things you've reacted to and I see them as relatively harmless. Even your counterpart in LOTR-supportive-TH-aggression-and-anti-Jaredism, Elf of Rivendell, doesn't seem to have a problem with the things I've said... and she was the one I was talking to when I so angered you.

If you want to change your avatar, feel free. But don't think you need to or anything... I'm fine with it being like it is. Of course, if you want to add your favorite animal (the skunk, perhaps? oops, there I go doing that again...), feel free to do so as well!
