As your mayor, I want to keep you, the citizens, as informed as possible concerning what is going on in this town. You should be able to know what's going on, take action on it if necessary and you should know what I stand for as mayor.
For these reasons, I've launched an official mayoral website! It will be updated at least once per week with new press releases, "From the Mayor's Desk" columns and other information. I will post here when such updates are made available.
Please view the site -- and come back to comment on it here!

| Wow, Jared. You really take the position of Mayor of Virtual Odyssey serriesly. How long did it take you to make that site. I like you mayoral platform. It was short and sweet. |

Yes, I take my elected office seriously and have high goals for this town. The website is just a place where I can keep the people of this town updated about what I am doing.
For the record, that site took about four hours... not long at all.
My platform may be short and sweet, but what about my bio?
The site will, as I said earlier, be updated somewhere around (probably more than, actually) once per week... and, while I don't have exact dates for these considering the nature of the projects, I have some interesting things coming to the town soon! |

Poor Hawkeye...
This self-described computer wiz that builds himself supercomputers can't even make a computer capable of successfully navigating a basic website. I weep for him...
And I stand amazed that someone hasn't used the various data on that website against me yet... You know how some of those people are, always railing against me.
Fortunately, Hawkeye doesn't appear to be one of them. He refused to concede, but, unlike some people, doesn't seem to bear an enormous grudge against me. Just a moderate-sized one, I suppose...
Really, his case is kind of a sad one. He tried politics, but failed. He tried computers, but his work is falling apart. Perhaps we need a citizen's effort to assist this unfortunate individual. |

It is my laptop that I use most, and laptops, espacially have inherent heat problems. There isn't really anything I can do but shut it down periodically.
But, no, I am not having too much difficulty. I have plenty of computers that I can browse the internet with, but I don't have any super computer, however, I could have a cheap one from the computers I have....
And for the record, I don't hold a grudge at all, and are you really standing?
Nothing I have seen on your site thus far is worse than your attack on Mr Whittaker, so your evil is just showing through. We all knew you would prove yourself incapacle of being a good mayor. You are proving this true.
Recall! |

Recall......or....Recount?
That sounds familiar......however since this was an online election, I do not think that you can base the necessity for a recall on hanging chads.
However ,you may try to make a case that the underprivledged of this board were not given the sufficiant ability to vote.....perhaps they were only equipped with a 56k modem. The solution? A recall....definitely(since, of course, the whole election was setup from the beginning), and after that..the government should install cable modems in evey voters household, provided that they make less than 30,000 a year.
And pehaps I am rambling........
And perhaps some board members need to set aside thier long-standing grudges and support the mayor.
A pity this is not the case in the real world situation. |

He did mean recall, not recount...
Allow me to post something here that I wrote in response to a similar call to recall me that began at the AI0 Digital boards:
A recall requires a 2/3rds vote against me, and can only be instituted with the signatures of at least (in states) 10,000 registered voters. We don't have that many people, but say the signatures of 1/5th of voters just to get the ballot up.
And unlike the way you heard it on Odyssey, the recall doesn't immediately pit two or more candidates against each other. Once the required signatures are obtained, it goes to a public vote of whether or not the person should be recalled. IF a full two-thirds of voters say yes, then a special election is held within 90 days (we could shorten that, I imagine) in which the recalled candidate can run and other candidates who file may challenger him. So, you need two-thirds of the people to agree that I should go and vote that way, then you need to get them back again to vote for you (or some other opponent) a while later.
Sorry, but I don't think it will happen... |
