Do you own flash? You can use flash for anything in imaging and animation.
Check this out www.themows.com
That guy made those comics from scratch in flash. |
Short answer: You can't use flash, because it isn't animation but digital drawing. Vector images are usually constructed using numerous geometric layers. I believe the above image used somewhere around 130 layers.
In reply to Monday: I enjoy taking time to do the things I enjoy, so for me, it's not a waste. |
I say again, do you even own flash? |

Uh... what? What do you mean by flash editing and creating program? Flash is a program. And the way you just put a little no at the end made it even weirder. |

Quite an impressive piece of vector art, Coralfish. My own artistic skills are not quite so developed, although I think with time I could draw a reasonable representation of a stick figure.
Concerning the Macromedia Flash controversy, Flash is specifically designed for creating and outputting .swf "movies" -- animations, simple applications (although Director and other programs are more suited to this task), etc. While it is possible to do some very basic drawing in Flash itself, I don't believe many would wish to create a detailed image therein. In fact, Macromedia has its own software for that: Fireworks.
As for the odd assertion concerning owning a "Flash editing and creating program" not made by Macromedia, I presume this can be reconciled by mentioning the third party program "Swish" (and possibly others), which can manipulate files in an .fla-style environment to create limited animations exported as .swfs. There's not a lot you can do with Swish -- basic text and image motion tweening and fading, but certainly no action scripting or anything like that.
Personally, I use Adobe Photoshop 5 for image rendering and Macromedia Flash 5 for animations. Both are badly outdated, but since I am horribly inept at both, it probably doesn't matter too much. |

Wow, an endorsement? Should I get this notarized? Or signed?

This particular image was constructed using Adobe Photoshop CS, and Image Ready CS, but I'm sure any version thereof is more than capable. (Though, I'm sure we'll all be more than eager to rush out and purchase CS 2 with its seperate red-eye reduction tool).
As for ineptitude, I've found a variety of free tutorials to be quite helpful for whatever image-editing task I wish to undertake. |
