Wow! You are good! You should enter one of those in the THDC. And If you are on the ToO, you can enter one more on there.

Wow... you all have some interesting work... and ditto with the rest of the ppl on the eugene and color stuff :P

Okay. I'm getting the message that Japanese anime makes up most of Japanese TV, and in general, society is trying to determine how anime fits into the Canadian/North American Culture as in demographics? Is that correct?

I would like to know why that is. Is Japanese culture so different in how they view what is appropriate for what "age/maturity group"?

So, why would 'one' say that some is okay for young children (1-10 [for example]) to watch, whereas some other could be rated as PG or 14+?

Well, a show like Pokemon, for example, is aimed at children. But, the Japanese culture is still very different. In the US a couple of episodes were banned because one included inappropriatess invloving cleavage. Another had a gun in it that was fired at people. Although I still don't see a reason for them banning that. Lots of cartoons have guns on them. Sometimes they go way overboard on how much they edit the shows. But, aside from those episodes, the entire show is kid-freindly.

Now a show like Yu-Gi-Oh is aimed at teenagers in Japan. They have to edit a lot of dark symbols, language, violence, blood, cleavage, alcohol, and religious references, and references to death. So why don't they just aim it at teenagers here and not have to worry about making changes? It's all about the money. If they aimed it at teenagers they wouldn't get the money they would from kids buying the card game.

That's all I got for now.

To continue on, Some show's have what most people might call bad content, or at lest bad content for young n's. Yu Yu Hakusho is an example of this, In the show just about all the people use words that are "not to healthy" lets say. So Most parents wouldnt want their kids watching that. Other anime's, Like Ruroni Kenshin for example, are good anime's for kids and teen's alike.

a lot of Anime that is in Japan will stay in Japan because their is no way to edit it to make it aproprait enough for american's. I've found that the anime stuff on Cartoon network is good for all ages or some for kids and some for teens (cause each age group mihgt not find somehting interesting as the other would.). Now I say Cartoon network, not Adult Swim (which is their late at night program).

If you got questions on spacific anime's I'd be happy to answer them.

The Phantom.
