This makes me so depressed. We were so close to having the real Katrina! And now were never going to have her! In my mind, Eugene and Katrina will never really have a happy ending. |
I think they should bring Pam back anyway. They had someone step in as Rodney for an ep, and kept Steve Burns. The same should be done here imo.

| I concur! (All though it would still be annoying that she wouldn't be able to record the wedding episode.) |

I think so too!!!!!!
I'd much rather switch back to the real Katrina after this season. I don't think I"ll ever get used to and like the new voice...I just know it's not Katrina! |

Hopefully they haven't already signed a contract with Audrey Wasilewski. . .
Edit: I just found Audrey Wasilewski's acting resume on International Movie Database. It has a picture. She apparently plays a small role on the TV series "Big Love"-- a character named Pam. How ironic.

| I would way rather have the "real" Katrina back and just have a temporary voice inconsistently than have a permanent voice inconsistency! Bring back Pamela Hayden! |

As much as I like Pam and I'll miss her voice, they need to stick with the new actress. She's already recorded two of Katrina's biggest episodes ever (Eugene's return and their wedding show) so to change it now wouldn't make much sense. Besides, there is the 5 year gap that realistically a person's voice can change in.
What I would have loved to see (or would love to see) is Pam being recorded 'wild', which they've done several times before but I'm assuming there's a reason for them not doing this. Or they could have released the broadcast version with this actress but re-do the album version with Pam. However, this would cost a significant amount so I guess we'll just have to accept it. |

| It would be awesome if they could redo the album version with Pam. I really want to hear her in the wedding episode, even if only in the album. Her and Will Ryan have great chemistry, which isn't shared with the new actress. |

Gandalf would have a valid point if it weren't for what Fletcher said. Sure, I can get used to the new voice, but not the new actress. The personality that the two give Katrina is different. Pam Hayden is a wonderful and actor, and was able to give the character of Katrina tremenous depth. She was able to project chemistry with other actors that the new actress has failed in doing, imo.

I hadn't even though of recording wild, though I too am sure there's a reason for their not doing this (at least, I hope so). And while it would take a lot of effort to re-mix the recording with Pam Hayden, I sure wouldn't complain if they did.

No more Pam Hayden? And they're calling those episodes the most pivotal?? What about It Started with a Handshake and Ended with a rabbit's foot? What about the one where Eugene crashes her parents' re-wedding?
sigh
You know, after however many years it's been, I still am not used to Paul Herlinger as Whit. I'm sure some of it has to do with the way he's been written, which I simply don't find as interesting as Whit before he went to the middle east. But even with the voice, I'm constantly reminded of how much more I like Hal Smith. And I know that with Katrina I'll always be reminded of how much I prefer Pam Hayden.
It would be like casting someone other than Earl Boen as Dr. Blackgaard. Unless the new person could do the exact same laugh, it just wouldn't be the same....
