for a book I'd suggest Of Mice and Men by Stienbeck. it's short and not half bad.

*was thinking about taking that on spring break vacation* ..how long did it take you to read?
oh let me think......I only read it during school lunch times so I'd say it took me about a week or so

AAAaahhh! I loathe that book! It was horrible! The whole time I was reading it I had a sickening feeling in the pit of my stomach. (The same feeling that I had while I was reading "Holes") The ending is horrid! It leaves you with no pleasure, only nausea and a philosophical brain jam. I only read it because I had to. Don't read it PK! (Unless you have no choice.)

Lord of the Flies is good. A nice well rounded book.

I'll toss my hat into the ring with the rest and recommend the Cooper kids books. I'd also HIGHLY recommend the Veritas Project books! Smile For those of you who want more adult themes, Peretti's adult books are also terrific. I adore "The Prophet" and really like "This Present Darkness" and "Piercing the Darkness" as well. Very Happy

Here's a suggestion for somehting on the radio (gasp Shock ) I've been listening to a program called Nightsounds for like over 5 years now. It's a very relaxed late night program. I highly suggest it. for more info www.nightsoundsradio.org

I liked Lord of the Flies, although it has been years since I read it. Apt Pupil was good too. Creeped me out, but good!

I would recomend this great radio series called "Adventures in Odyssey" to anyone here. I think you might really enjoy it!

I used to listen to that show, but the only Christian station that played it cancelled it b/c of some bogus reasons while they were switching to a more 'modern' format. I enjoyed it muchly.

Sherwood Smith writes great fantasy. Her style is much like Baroness Orzcy, if you like The Scarlet Pimpernel. Her new book Inda is coming out in August or September.
