Hey everyone!
I was just on my other favorite website (forums), only to find that they were hacked into (they even changed all of the posts to just the words "hacked hacked hacked" etc) and I don't know what to do!
I don't think that any of the admins are online, since they're at work or school. Is there anything I can do to stop them? They have already deleted all of the usergroups, and everyone's usernames. We cannot post anywhere, even as guests. (there goes my 1k post count )*is stressed out*
Heh, okay, I'm done.
Sarah
EDIT: Oh great, I just went to check, and they deleted ALL of the forums on the site. Looks like i can't do anything now. |

Yep, everything.
It was a phbb forum, but an admin just posted on the regular website, letting us know that they are working on getting them back. Currently we have makeshift forums on proboards.
I hope they can get everything back. :P

Yeah, frequent backups are a very good idea for PHPBB forums, although they're generally stable... *glance at admin*
Advise them to upgrade if they haven't--some other versions contain security flaws, though I can't remember the details.
...>_< Something similar happened to a friend's forum a while back, which was using Invision... |

Heh, yeah, the admin made sure that phpbb made an automatic backup every month or something of the forums. :P
Unfortunately, the hacker is taking over the forums, and declared themselves admin. I don't know why. Ha ha, they're parading around with the name "phoot" so if you come across anyone with that username anywhere, give them a nice swift kick on the bottom. For me. ;)

| If they have server access--which they should--they can delete the forums, reinstall, and apply backup. The special settings might be lost, but that's better than what they're going through now I think... |
