*sigh* It's good to be back! Remember me? Of course not, but maybe you'll get to know me better this time. What's it been, two years? Three? Boy this place sure has changed. I'm not sure I like it either... Well, I'll get used to it.

I looked down at the "users online" and saw your name and thought "Wow, I haven't seen nor heard from Tianlet in a long time"... so yes, I remember you... welcome back!
Also, Christian Cowgirl, this board has been around (in various different forms) for 6 years or so. :)

I wasn't here when it first opened, as I didn't know it existed, but I found it in January of 2000. It had opened sometime in 1999. The AIOHQ also had a forum at this time, and both were text based (none of these fancy images or smiley faces!). I opened up a message board that was different from both of those... featuring "categories" and "private messaging" in February of 2000, called "The Soda Fountain Boards", and it became quite popular quite quickly. However, ads began invading the boards (the "ezboard" as everyone called it) and many people hated that you were required to register as a member. Coupled with the fact there was now three boards for the few fans that were internet AIO fans, Nathan Hoobler and I decided to shut down our boards and just use this one.
To continue this history lesson, in August 2002, Jared and I needed a message board for fans to discuss AIO Mole... so we created the "Mole Boards" which, like "The Soda Fountain Boards" used a format very close to the current Town Hall. The boards became so popular, and attracted tons of new posters, that the Town Hall was forced to overhaul the entire layout and abandon the text based message board. Shortly after the new Town Hall was born, some terrible things happened at the Mole Boards and wiped out everyone's posts. Jared and I were then forced to decide the fate of the board... and reasoned that since AIO Mole was over, and the Town Hall finally had a decent format, we would abandon the board and again let the fans thrive here.
As of March 19, 2005, that is still the case. But who knows what next month will bring?
So there you go, the history (albeit condensed) of the Town Hall and the moments few fans will actually recall (as most were not around to witness the events that lead to the Town Hall as we know it).
