Not all men are chauvinistic pigs. Not all men do polite deeds just to pick up ladies. Some men do things simply to be polite. I don't think it should be considered a "majority" when a few men are just rotten. Just as I don't believe it should be considered a majority when a few women aren't exactly living up to standards or some such.
I'm not being harsh here, but, since admitting is the first step to solving a problem, perhaps this should be worked on. |
maybe. You take things so seriously. Are you a Youth Leader? |

ME? A youth leader?! Lead them where? Over a cliff? Really, I could never lead youth. They'd be destined for destruction if that were so.
I take things as the the above seriously simply because I've seen it far too often and don't at all care for the basic stereotypes placed upon both genders, especially men. |

It's nice when men are courteous toward me. Sometimes the meanest, toughest looking men turn out to be the most polite. |

That's a very good example of the minority giving the majority a bad name. Also, I think its very subjective depending upon with whom you associate and where you go. Associating with those who do not practice chivalry or do so out of false motivation would suggest that its time to, perhaps, look elsewhere for one's friendships, no?
Finally, to all those who suggest that we show gratitude for chivalrous behavior, I agree. In a sense, in order to expect something from someone, you owe it to them to be grateful when they do it for you. It's a fair trade, and encourages further behavior of this sort. |
