I think that it's really sad that they are doing this to kids movies. They're teaching the whole next generations that homosexuality is no big deal, and is basically as normal as heterosexuality. It makes me sad to think of all of the kids who are seeing shows like these and being influenced by them.

I think what she meant was it's sad what the video's message could result in. The video, produced by a pro-gay foundation, teaches tolerance and acceptance of everyone. At the same time many of these elementary students are being taught homosexuality is normal (yes the agenda has infected elementary schools and if I had time I'd show you sources proving it).

Hmm...Does any moderator here wish to comment on what he just said ? [Fixed. --Ed.]

And here is something that speaks about the 'Bert and Ernie' issue. I had always dismissed that claim, mostly because they were my favorite Sesame Street Characters. But I must say that I was somewhat saddened to read this.

This text is from a non-christian viewpoint, so don't take its theme to heart.

The Ernie and Bert "gay-lovers" issue is simply a myth. Can you be sure this article is legit? Also, Jim Henson would have never intended for them to be gay, and such ideas are results of perverted minds, perverting what was pure. However, I fear that perhaps now that Henson is dead, and Oz, Nelson, and some of the other Muppeteers are not longer running the company, Ernie and Bert could be portrayed as gay.

But the "real" true Bert in Ernie, unperverted by the stupid people of today, were never gay. They were best friends rooming together to share the rent. Nothing else.

I agree.

I wasn't myself sure if that article was actually stating fact, or merely ones opinion. Though, as you said, the original Ernie and Bert were deffinatly not portrayed as gay...but simply two roomates in an apartement.

However, you also say it's a myth. I fear that today, the myth as been spun into an socially-accepted fact.

And, to add as an EDIT; I'm sure if you looked back into the Sesame Street Archive, you could find either a song or an episode having Ernie talk about how much Bert is his "friend". Yes, pull out the theme of 'friendship' and you'll have a segment with Ernie and Bert. I don't see them passing 40 years without stopping to talk about Ernie and Bert being friends.

The rumor of Ernie and Bert being gay and Sesame Street coming out with a show about it has been ciruclating for a long time.

Unless someone can show me proof of a show of that subject being aired, I won't believe it. The rumor has existed and been debunked many a times.

As for sponge bob... well I don't know anything about the show except that its a cartoon, extrememly popular, and I don't like cartoons. Wink
