| What do you guys think is the best movie made of the year so far? I think it's Spiderman. It was clearly well made. (yah I know the two towers hasn't come out yet) |

Here's what I've seen that could constitute the best movies I've seen this year
Spiderman: Great! They could have easily ruined yet another super hero, but this time they gave him more heart and life than usually given a comic book hero.
Star Wars II: A few reasons 1) It's Star Wars, which automatically makes it better than 90% of the stuff out there and 2) It was much, much better than Episode 1, plus it also had less Jar Jar :)
Spirited Away: Flat out one of the best animated movies of the last 20 years, if not more. Something of a Japanese Alice in Wonderland (but much, much more) It's as pretty as a painting, and by far one of the most interesting movies out in a long time. It's on top of IMDB.com's Animated films list for a reason. It stays with you for a long time, as evidenced by my picture of Chihiro, the main character, at the bottom of my posts. Don't care for much anime, but this one is the exception. (sorry...I'm a gushing fanboy on this one!)
HPATCOS: Not as good as HPATSS, and I don't want to start an agreement, but it still was awfully fun.
Oh, and I'll throw in Fellowship of the Rings, since that came out so late last year.
I heard Jonah was great, but I haven't seen it yet. It was one of the rare "Christian" movies to receive an overwhelmingly positive number of reviews - 69% over at Rottentomatoes.com
And I'm looking forward to seeing Star Trek:Nemesis, Two Towers, and Naqoyqatsi. No, I usually don't consume this many new movies in a year, but this was the exception.

i have seen it. it's um funny but disrespectful in some parts. mostly good. the humour is pretty childish, yet funny if ur in a good mood. that's all i gotta say.

I'm not a movie fan so maybe you can explain this to me. There's a movie called "Episode"? Episode!? Couldn't they think of a better name? It may be a thrilling episode of something or other, but ... episode? |

I think (and I may be wrong here) that when People say "Episode 2" or something like that they mean Star Wars: Attack of the Clones. Speaking of needing better titles......

| Oh, I have a question...is the sand in the last scenes of 'Attack of the clones' supposed to be sand? My friend says it isn't supposed to be sand but I think it is. It looks so fake. |

in my opinion, Star Wars Episode 2...sucked. i mean, you can only get away with so much garbage by dumping lots of special effects in. The dialouge was awful, although i must say i was mildly entertained throughout the movie...the popcorn was good
Spiderman was ok, good special effects. But once the Lord of the Rings:the Two Towers comes out...well, this thread will be useless. Dec 18th is going to be the highlight of my year.
Maybe i'm just hard to please, but i think a lot of awful movies came out this year. |
