I'm not well-versed in movies, but I doubt you see what is being asked here, e.g. a straight vertical jump onto the hood of a car. One might fall, leap onto or otherwise land on a car hood, but that is entirely different than a true vertical jump.
Which I doubt you'd see in movies anyway, as it would not make a whole lot of sense. Why would someone jump straight up into the air and allow a car to pass under them? |

And since when do movies make sense?

I believe Clyde Drexler can do 40". Still not enough to clear a car though. |

My plan would be the following:
Invent a solid trampoliney thing (like in the Princess Bride...during the sword fight between Wesley and Inigo), so the guy can jump on that, and get more height, but the car will be able to drive over it. |

Heh.
Maybe I'll just have to get into the movie industry and create the tricks of my imagination. |

| Ok you have to make up a situation here so we know exactly what is going on here. Everyone is starting to make up conclusions. |

As long as you have a safe landing does it matter that the trampoliney thing gets destroyed?

Jonathan--no, but it would ruin the effect if the car broke the trampoline as it drove over it.
Me--I was referring to that one part where Wesley jumps down from something and you see the ground bend. |
