I'm wasn't implying that we should be striving to fulfill the law: it's not possible. That's why Jesus came and died for us.

What exactly do you mean by 'keep the sabbath'?

Then why did God give it in the first place? If it was impossible to keep...

Is that not one of the 10 commandments?

I may be wrong, but as I understand it it was given to the Hebrews to set them apart from the rest of the world.

For us, like I said before, it serves to remind us that we are imperfect creatures in need of a redeemer.

Yes, but I wanted to know what exactly you meant. Did you mean do I not work on Sunday, then I do. I haven't always, I've broke it before, but I try.

A reminder yes, but we don't keep the law, except for what Paul resays in his books.

The Sabbath actually started Friday night and went on into Saturday.

True, but since the church observes it on Sunday does that mean we are sinning if we don't also observe it on Friday/Saturday?

No, no. I'm not being very clear tonight, sorry, I've had a splitting headache all day.

While we can't fuffill it, and the sacrifices are no longer necessary (thanks to Jesus' sacrifice) it is a good reminder that we are imperfect, sinners deserving of hell (which can also be averted thanks to Jesus).
Here I thought you were implying that we should keep the law. Because you mentioned the sacrifices arn't necessary I asumed you thought we should do everything but the sacrifices.

I'd like to suggest that discussions as to whether or not certain OT laws apply today be relegated to another thread, if you want to continue them.

That's ok, I'm not sure I was being very clear either (although it seems as though we tend to get sidetracked from the original debate quite often).

I agree. There is no way to keep all the old laws. Now there are some (no offense jarem) Jews and non-Jews (jarem) who try to keep all the old laws even though Jesus died on the cross. If we tried to keep all the old laws, we'd be no better than the hipocrits that plotted to kill Jesus. It clearly states in the Bible that when Jesus died for our sins, the old law was done away with. So I agree that we no longer have to or should keep the old law. There is no possible way.
