| Your friendly neighborhood moderators, Shadowpaw and I, are attempting to make ammends to this. Alas, since we are not admins, it is a slow process. |

| I have noticed the same thing. Even though I don't care about post count, I would like to know as well. |

Your unfriendly neighborhood administrators, being a vengeful type, do not believe that any of you deserve high post counts, and in fact have considered randomly reducing people's totals for the sheer entertainment value. All complaints will be forwarded to our public relations department, and since we don't have one, you may be on hold for a very long time.
(But we have nice "hold" music!)
(That is, if you like our collection of Latin chants, which was hand-copied by a duteous 13th century scribe onto an 8-track parchment.)
Actually, post count is disabled in this board to avoid the problems associated with out-of-control posting for post count increasing purposes, something most rampant in unregulated boards such as this one. We let you post on all kinds of eclectic topics here and don't delete very much (unless, of course, it's inappropriate). In exchange, you simply don't get the post count increase.
But you don't care about that anyway, right?
And, like I said, we're unfriendly. Nasty, even. Some have even taken to calling our little band of administrators the "Evil Empire."
Well, actually they haven't, but...
(The question on everyone's mind, I imagine, is that, if we presume that administrators are evil, then is administrative access, well, you know, the Access of Evil?) |

I would also like to express my extreme anger that I posted that and got nothing in return for it! Like, my post count didn't change or anything!
They call this justice!!!!???
Who are those administrators, anyway? |

I sort of disagree with this. Just because someone isn't talking about anything serious shouldn't mean they don't get a post count. What about the arts!? What if someone types up an incredible award-winning AIO fan-fic? Shouldn't they get the post count they deserve for it?
Also, the majority of people on here rareley venture onto the Impolite Company, and Offtopic isn't used as much since everything that was good about it was moved here. (And I think I say this unbiased, since I am in the impolite company frequently.)
Please reconsider, or you may have a bunch of members who've been here for 4 years but only have 50 posts in thier post count. |

One thing that is being actively reconsidered (and by actively, I mean that it was mentioned once, by someone, and we all said that yes, we should actively consider that, someday) is redefining this board, tailoring it more narrowly so that more discussions fall under Offtopic. As of now, this board is more of a catch-all than it probably should be. That might change.
"What about the arts?" Well, what about them?
Artists are favored all over the place, getting grants from the government and having pieces of artwork that look suspiciously like common household rubbish or a paint can which accidentally spilled on a canvas displayed in prestigious museums.
Universities love the arts and assign all kinds of credit for related courses. In fact, nearly all colleges and universities offer a "liberal arts education," combining three words that strike horror into the hearts of conservatives everywhere.
Liberal? As in the ticket of John Kerry and Michael Moore? (Or was someone else on the bottom of the ticket? I forget...)
Arts? Like the award-winning "Room With The Light Going On And Off"?
Education? Meaning Democratic indoctrination?
Why, it's utterly terrifying!
But I digress.
Point being, you'll get credit for artistic stuff all your life while people in the real world (not to be confused with the newly-emerging "reality-based community") do real work. So you don't get credit here and now.
Deal with it.
Welcome to the real world.
(In a board called the Imagination Station, of all places. Life is ironic.)
I am kidding, you know! |
