| "Murder on the Titanic" by James Walker. Historical, suspenseful, strong Christian charachters, a little romance, and a LOT of ACTION! |

Gotta love a "pianted house"!
Although, the main character is a bit to deep for a 6 year old, but on the whole, a very good read. I hear that "22 catch" is good, has anyone read it yet? |

I've only read one Grisham book, but from what I've heard from others, The Painted House is a slow book. Would you say this is accurate?
Grisham is more known for courtroom thrillers than depression-era stories, I believe, and from those who I know that have read the book, it shows.
You disagree, I assume? |

well, who can't love the lord of the rings books. And, for younger readers, I enjoyed the 'redwall' books. It's a very nice series if you're ever bored... |

Yeah. The Redwall books are great. I've read 'em all except for the one that came out in September. Has anyone heer heard of "The Series of Unfortunate Events" by Lemony Snicket? They are brilliant.

I've listed some books by my favorite authors on my website, http://conservativejournal.cjb.net (on the left side under site navigation, choose "Conservative Books"). And yes, these are political.
And while I can't quite recommend it yet as it's not published at this time, I'm getting a fictional book for Christmas that I'm really excited about. It's called The Last Jihad and is about terroristic attacks carried out by the nation of Iraq and escalating into a nuclear conflict with Israel and the United States against Iraq and knowing that Saddam's just dumb enough to launch the nukes.
It sounds really good... it's written by Joel Rosenberg, a strongly conservative Christian - and the author REALLY has credentials. He definitely knows whereof he writes, as his descriptions of Israel and the Israeli military, bunkers, etc., comes from when he served as chief aide to (former) Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. His knowledge of the White House and American politics stems from his work as a news correspondent, campaign manager for Steve Forbes presidential campaign, his former editorship of the Limbaugh Letter (Rush's newsletter) and his current work for WORLD Magazine. The book has been read by a few prominant conservatives and all are rating it highly. Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and Marvin Olasky are all giving it their enthusiastic support. I can't wait to read this! |
