| Great Expectations, by Charles Dickens. Also, A Tale of Two Cities. He can be overly wordy at times, but he's definitely a master with words and symbolism. I liked the Narnia series - I've read them 4 times or so and every time I've gotten more out of them. |

Yep. Great book. Has a lot more detail then the movie. Don't know if I've ever seen it in a store, but I got it from the library. |

I like Grishams books(though I only read one so far), Redwall books, George Macdonald books, J. R. R. Tolkein books, The Chronicles of Narnia and C. S. Lewis' space trilogy.
Has anyone else here read anything by George Macdonald, or the space trilogy?
And by the way, there's a really good site that everyone should visit. TOTALLY FREE e-books that are really old and uncopyrighted. They have almost anything you want there that's old enough. Tom Swift, Little Women, etc.

"The Client" and "The Summons" are my two favorite Grisham books. I like some of the Tom Clancy books like "Hunt for Red October" and "Red Storm Rising". I also really enjoy British mystery series like Sherlock Holmes and Hercule Poirot. The Redwall seies is really good, but that has been said already, I think. In current books, I recently read "The Savage Nation"- a book by a talk show host named Michael Savage, emphasizes the significance of borders, language, and culture. Also another really good book is "George and Laura: Portrait of an American Marrige" It takes the reader through the events of September 11th and how the President and his family reacted. Its just a really good book. There are others, but I think that I have said enough for now. |

I've read a few George Macdonald ones (The wise woman, The Princes and the Goblins, the Princes and Curdi, and At the back of the North Wind). I thought they were kinda strange. I've read the first two books of the space trilogy. Now they were weird. They dwealt to much on the bizzare and not enough on a good plot. |
