I think while a lot of people are bothered by the goodbye threads, Mellow just happens to be more vocal about it. I think this is the best solution yet for this problem. It's frustrating reading the boards everyday and finding out yet another member has devoted a thread to wishing themselves goodbye... when they are only going to be temporily absent for a couple of weeks.
We have yet to really crackdown on the goodbye threads, but as we have seen a large number of recent threads about this issue... I believe having a single thread devoted to saying goodbye is the best course of action (of course there are others who could simply just leave without the need for farewell wishes).

Thanks to Mellow's suggestion, the mods have decided that this is the best course of action. From now on, all goodbye threads will only be allowed to be posted in "The Exit" thread which can be found in "The Entrance" forum. If someone posts a goodbye thread in any way other than in that designated thread, it will be deleted.
Sorry it had to come to this, but goodbye threads have always been frustrating to many people... and recently it's just gone too far. So from now on, this is the way things will need to be done.
