Thank you again for all of your prayers. This illness has been quite the adventure.
2 antibiotics, 3 rounds of blood tests, an echo cardio gram, and a bunch of pain meds later the doctor was still no closer to figuring out what was wrong. My symptoms changed, and he did not think it was actually rheumatic fever, though he did not have a clue what the problem could be.
My parents and I did not feel that this doctor was being agressive enough, and we were going on 4 weeks of me being sick. Conventional meds weren't working. It was so frustrating!
My mom has always tried to do natural medicine, herbs and homopathy. Its safer and healthier for the body than main stream meds. So we went to a nutritionist that specializes in natural healing: getting the body the right nutrients it needs to heal its self.
While she cannot diagnose, she uses a computer program that recognizes different bacteria, viruses and the like, by their electical code. Sounds startreky I know, but there has been a lot of research backing this technology... its pretty neat.
Well it turns out that rheumatic fever wasn't what I was sick with this time. We did discover that I do have ever type of strep bacteria running rampant in my body, so many of my symptoms did line up with RF. But I also have a mild form of menengitis, and lymes disease. None of these things are readily picked up on blood tests anymore... thats why the doctor was at a loss.
So we've been treating me using herbs and remedies and diet, and so far so good. I am feeling much better. My pain level is still high, but I have more good times than bad. I am also starting to sleep better.
I'm sure I have just bored you all with this post, but I find it so interesting how things have progressed for me. Thank you again for praying. It sure feels good to feel like myself again.
God Bless ya!

| Isn't lymes disease supposed to be really bad? What exactly is menengitis? I'm glad your accurately diagnosed, hope you continue recovering. |
