| Can anyone tell me the origins of this? before Power Rangers, Transformers, maybe even Voltron. Someone came up with the idea of 5 robots combining to form one. don't go randomly searching Google, you might wind up on some hinky anime websites, but if anynone knows, please reply. |

Well, it might have been Gundam...
I know they like the number of main Gundams to be 5, at least in G, Wing, and SEED. |

A little side trivia... anyone who the first live action program EVER to have a "Giant Robot"... just one, not five joining... but before Power Rangers and the other Sentai programs.

| odysseyfan you might be talking about Voltron.Not sure if I speld that right.but that was a cartoon where the 4 or 5 heros had uniforms like the power rangers and there zords made a big robot. |

called Johnny soko.Or Altraman. |
