I have no inkling of an idea about why almost only everybody whose's nobody likes this movie that people don't even watch!!!
(No offense, but I just don't understand why it did so well. So what if it had some actor that I hadn't heard of befor it came out. I can't understand.) |

I am not very knowledgeable on this topic and rarely watch movies -- for the record, I have most definitely never seen the one in question -- but I do know that this film was extremely popular. In fact, I believe it may have broken just about every record there was in terms of all-time ticket sales, profits, etc.
Therefore, I find the statement to the effect that no one liked the film somewhat hard to believe. Obviously, it had a very dedicated and quite sizable fan base. The people in said base are simply not in your circle of friends.
I am reminded, as I often am, to Pauline Kael's (a film critic, incidentally) reaction to Richard Nixon's landslide reelection in 1972: "How can that be? Nobody I know voted for Nixon." By choosing our friends and acquaintances, we introduce a certain prevalent bias into the selection. Just because those you know didn't like the movie most decidedly does not mean that it was generally disliked throughout the nation. |

| heh, I went through a Titanic-researcher phase in my life. I think that I absorbed intense hatred for that movie via osmosis or something... |

| I've seen it, initially it was showing on a transcontinental flight I was on, but I refused to watch it, but then I watched it last year. It wasn't the greatest, but the sets were good. |
