Ahem, the source of it's popularity. One word: Romance. I know girls who've watched it ten times in a week when it first came out. It's got a lot of bad stuff in it, I've never seen it but I've heard.
Lol, a youth pastor I know, Mike Reed, Said that he was talking to a girl who watched it 15 times in a week. Here is the diaolouge that went on beetween them when questioned.
Girl: Oh but pastor mike, It's a true story! I watch it for the History!
Mike: Riiight.... So, where were they leaving, and where were they going?
Girl: Uhhhhh.....

I agree with that statement!!! If you want the history, get the History Channel specials on it!
As a matter of fact, I haven't seen the movie myself.  But still, it dosn't deserv to be in the same league as Ben Hur and ROTK with 11 Oscars!
That is ridiculas!!! I don't see a single website dedicated to Titanic, with 15,113,373+ posts, and 142,403 registered members.
(Please tell me if there any!)

Who cares if that DiCapitardo guy is in it! I am glad he wasn't in E2! That would have been scary . . .  |

It's good to know that I'm not the only one who hasn't seen it! I remember when it first came out that practically everybody was going to see it! After I found out about the moral issues, I didn't want to see it. Now for me it's more a matter of principle to not watch it. Sometimes I feel like the last hold-out, though.  |
