Ok I'll admit it. I'm a somewhat fan of the TV classic Little House on the Prairie Embarassed Don't ask me why, I just am, considering I'm a 22 year old male Embarassed Embarassed

Some of the episodes still grab me. I know they tend to be on the heavy side and a bit sappy. Also people cry all the time. But they can be funny. I'm just curious. Is there anyone out there who still watches the show? What do you like and not like about it?

For me I personally can't stand
1) people cry all the time
2) some of the plots seem rather far-fetched
3) they're way too serious

Just wondering....

My goodness! I love that show. Infact, I was just thinking yesterday about posting a post on it! LHOTP ROCKS!!!
Charles Ingalls is the BEST EVER!!! And Mery Ingalls is The Coolest girl in the world. Laura is cool but needs serious dentall work.

We have season one on dvd so I was up till 1:00 watching that the other night. It was so sad. They had a baby boy but it died.... Crying or Very sad

I'm gonna watch more tonight.
Charles rocks so much I made him my Avvy.

I've never seen the show, but I love the books (haven't read those in awhile either). I appreciate that the book series is entertaining and interesting, yet nonfiction, unlike the TV show plots which seem "far-fetched." How closely does the show mirror the book, anyways?

Laura needs dental work lol..

Yeah it's a nice wholesome family show. One where the bad guys apologize to the preacher for missing a church service. It's close enough to the books I think. The Olsens bother me, especially Nelly and Mrs. Olson. Nelly bribes everybody with candy from her father's store. It's sad when Mary goes blind. Lots of sad stuff happens to them, really, but that's life.
I've attended the church Pa Ingalls built in DeSmit, SD when I lived there. It was neat.

From what I've seen, some of the first shows were close to the books, but they also did shows which weren't part of the book series.

In most of the LHOTP episodes Laura did need dental work. To me, in some of the episodes, it almost looked like she was not brushing her teeth. You will notice in the episodes were she has married Almanzo Wilder her teeth are much nicer looking. Season 5 comes out on dvd at the end of this month.

One of the reasons my parents named me Mary was cause my dad had a crush on Mary from the show when he was growing up Rolling Eyes

Personally I don't watch the show but my younger siblings have the DVD's - I guess according to this topic that's a cool thing Very Happy

I have a whole bunch of the episodes on video. To me a lot of them are pretty far fetched, but they're pretty good anyway. That Mrs. Olson makes me sooooo mad, though! Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad

Mrs. Olson is soooo Stupid. She's like a fat old hen.

Mr. Olson is really cool, although flawed like the rest of the olsons, but still pretty nice when it comes down to it. Charles, Mary, Mr. Edwards, And Mr. Olson are my Fav. Chars.
