To my readers: This will be a story about Adventures in Odyssey. I plan to update regularly (at least once a week, hopefully more often). Enjoy!

CHAPTER ONE

A bush, one that looked like any one of the other bushes in McAllister Park, did somehting very strange. It stood up, revealing jean-clad legs, and walked several feet into a thick clump of trees. The person disguised as a bush had looked around carefully before it moved, and was confident that nobody had seen it move. However, the hidden person watching from up in a tree saw everything.

Connie Kendall sighed noisily, glad that her shift was almost over. Whit's End had been busy, as usual, and the thought of making one more sundae or cone filled her with dread. Connie glanced at the clock - only two more minutes until she could go home and sleep. Just then, the bell above the door rang, indicating that somebody was entering. As she glanced towards the door, Connie continued to absentmindedly wipe the counter. Suddenly she stopped as she recognized the person walking through the door.
"No - is it really you? It can't be!" Connie exclaimed.

Meanwhile, in another part of the continent, Eugene Meltsner was frowning nervously at the screen of his laptop computer.
"What's wrong now, Eugene?" his wife Katrina asked.
"Well, Katrina, I do not have sufficient time to explain the complexities of this report. Suffice to say, I believe that we will have to remain in hiding for a while longer."
Katrina sighed softly in disappointment, but nodded. "I miss our friends and my family, but their safety and ours is more important."
Just then, a van that said 'The Little Flower Shop Delivery Van' on the side turned into Eugene and Katrina's driveway.
"Oh, Eugene, you shouldn't have bought me flowers!" Katrina exclaimed happily.
"I didn't, dear," said Eugene distractedly.
"Then why is that delivery van here?" Katrina pondered out loud.

CHAPTER TWO

A silent figure climbed stealthily down from a tree in McAllister Park. Attached to his leg, underneath his loose right pant leg, was a case with a small digital camera and mini yet powerful binoculars. The camera was all that mattered now - he had to get the information he has just gathered to headquarters.

Connie stared at the person who had just entered, shocked. The one person she never would have expected to see had just walked into Whit's End.
"What are you doing here?" Connie asked accusingly.
"I'm here to see you. I want to talk with you - is that a problem?" the newcomer said calmly.
"Yes!" yelled Connie. "Why didn't you just stay away?"
"Like I said, I wanted to talk to you. I've...I've missed you. Is that so wrong? I'll be in town for at least a week, maybe longer depending on how things go here." The man took a hesitiant step closer to Connie.
Connie paused, then smiled. "Well, if you're here anyway, how about some ice cream?"

Eugene looked out the window at the unexpected floral delivery van, concerned.
"Should we use our emergency plan, or do you think that the van just went to the wrong address?" Katrina asked Eugene nervously.
Eugene thought for a second, then replied, "Katrina, I want you to go to our hiding place. I'll answer the door. No matter what, do not come out unless I come to get you. Not even if I call for you, Katrina. Okay?"
"Sure, Eugene. I'll be praying the whole time. I love you."
"Eugene smiled briefly. "I love you yoo, 'Trina. Now go hide!"
As the doorbell rang a moment later, Eugene took a deep breath, then went to go answer it. As he looked through the peephole, he got a big surprise. "Jason? What are you doing here?!"
