Actually, I just looked it up and the 2nd Commandment is not missing from the Catholic Bible (they just number the Ten Commandments differently). They do change the term "image" to "idols," though.

Which Catholic Bible did you try? There are several, and the one's I'm familiar with, and certainly the one my family owns a copy of (The New Jerusalem Bible, I think), do not contain commandment two at all.

I too am confused about what Jared brought up... all my Bibles have the full list of the ten commandments, and don't split up the coveting business. Commandment two is to not make for yourself an idol, in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth....

PS I suppose it could just be chalked up to the usual misinformation that spreads about Catholics.

Exodus 20:1-17

1. Then God delivered all these commandments:
2. "I, the LORD, am your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, that place of slavery.
3. You shall not have other gods besides me.
4. You shall not carve idols for yourselves in the shape of anything in the sky above or on the earth below or in the waters beneath the earth;
5. you shall not bow down before them or worship them. For I, the LORD, your God, am a jealous God, inflicting punishment for their fathers' wickedness on the children of those who hate me, down to the third and fourth generation;
6. but bestowing mercy down to the thousandth generation, on the children of those who love me and keep my commandments.
7. "You shall not take the name of the LORD, your God, in vain. For the LORD will not leave unpunished him who takes his name in vain.
8. "Remember to keep holy the sabbath day.
9. Six days you may labor and do all your work, 10. but the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD, your God. No work may be done then either by you, or your son or daughter, or your male or female slave, or your beast, or by the alien who lives with you.
11. In six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea and all that is in them; but on the seventh day he rested. That is why the LORD has blessed the sabbath day and made it holy.
12. "Honor your father and your mother, that you may have a long life in the land which the LORD, your God, is giving you.
13. "You shall not kill.
14. "You shall not commit adultery.
15. "You shall not steal.
16. "You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.
17. "You shall not covet your neighbor's house. You shall not covet your neighbor's wife, nor his male or female slave, nor his ox or ----, nor anything else that belongs to him."

Do you know what's absolutely amazing Coralfish? After I posted my message... I saw another Bible on my shelf pulled it out doubled checked it as well. I read the ten commandments, refreshed this page and you posted them... I read the first couple and then was thinking "Wow, deja vu". I then looked at the edition you got them from... the very copy that is sitting on my lap as we speak, The New American Bible Saint Joseph Edition. :)

On Alias Jennifer Garner ran into a fence.
Does that count for a blooper? It was on the Blooper Reel

And when Sydney asked Vaughn if he wanted to go to the hockey game she said
"The Kings are in town" But isnt the Kings the home team for L.A? So you wouldnt normally say that.

I was looking at the New American Bible at http://www.nccbuscc.com/nab/bible/exodus/exodus20.htm.

There was an survivor show that had a water bottle sitting right in the middle of one of the scenes - apparently belonging to the camara crew, but it was looking pretty out of place! Wink

In the Two Towers...

Pippin is caught by the Uruk-Hai's and when the Rohan army comes, one of the horse is about to stomp on him and Pippin shakes his free arm around when he's supposed to be tied. Then in the second scene, he's bound again and tells Merry to cut his knots.
