You opportunist. You're like Bart Rathbone- making some money (or publicity) out of a catastrophe. |

The officially endorsed temporary board was located at the Soda Fountain, www.aiosf.com, courtesy of Shadowpaw. AREM's board is not an officially licensed alternate for the Town Hall, and to construe it in that manner would certainly be an infringement of copyright law, had the Town Hall itself been copyrighted previously. Unfortunately, none of us were foresighted enough to do so. |

Like this: copyrighted 2004 by Jared Walczak because he's greedy and wants nobody else to rule TH.
In other words, we must preserve Town Hall. |

| Quote: | I had Jared upload a small PHP script (of my own creation), which allowed me to have a low-level look at the database. I found that three of the indexes for the various data tables the board uses had been corrupted (those dealing with posts and search results), so I simply told MySQL to repair them. After that, everything worked fine. The corruption must have somehow occurred after the web host restored the backups following the initial crash, since it worked for a brief period after the server came back up.
And not long after it first came back up, I saw a certain Xhan listed on the "Who's Online" page, so I assumed you already knew it was broken (though at that point the home page still worked). |
Sweet... wish I knew enough about PHP and MySQL to actually do these sorts of things, but to tell the truth, I'm just a frontend XHTML/XML/XSL sort of fellow :)
One of my computers autoloads this page as its homepage, so it may have listed me as online while I actually wasn't. Happens.
Anyways, thanks a lot. You have been most helpful.
