Please!!! NO MORE DEBATES!!! Don't get me wrong, I love debates in real life and online, but we've debated everything there is to debate!!! Also, most of us know what we all think on most major topics ( i.e: Hawkeye on courtship,BC on movies, Jared,Dr. B and on popular music,everyone on KJV, Samwise, Elf, Robin and I on LOTR,etc...). So unless we're also going to get a board that has ALL of the old ones so newer people can express their views on them a new debate board wouldn't be that wise.
My $0.02 on the matter. |

We're talking about more serious topics than movies, popular music, and Lord of the Rings. Those belong in Off-topic. The courtship and KJV debates likely belong in the new forum. You don't have to participate in the new forum if you do not wish. It's just that, as of now, there is no forum strictly for intellectual discussions, yet there are (currently) two - even three - relatively silly boards. Is that fair?
I personally would love to have a forum with serious discussion and debates. I am also thrilled to see that many have the same interest in replacing the Town of Odyssey with this new, serious forum. The generation gap is quickly becoming more evident. Which side of it are you on?  |

i don't think we have debated what we should have for dinner tonight, or what socks we should wear, or what i should wear tomorrow so that i look at least close to cute, or what type of mouse is best, or what color sticky notes are best for remembering things, or what kind of computer is best, or what mattrise brand is best, or what kind of tree we should all have in our courtyards, or what form of "hello" you should say when talking to different people, or or or??? Need i say more???

I agree, but since I don't have a better suggestion myself, carryone and make the board! Afterall no one's forcing me to go to it  |
