The phrase, coined by our very own Elf of Rivendell, actually is stated:
"Those who come to the Town Hall never return sane again."
If you're going to "steal our thunder," at least do it right. Since you seem to be so familiar with our customs, I'll tell you my own version of it:
"If you've come to the Town Hall, then you must not be sane."
This has proved true numerous times, and you can probably be the poster child for my version of Elf's saying.
But enough on our thunder. Let me have the pleasure of introducing myself. (Although if you have indeed "read a few other threads," you probably know who I am and generally what I'm going to say.) My name is Arthur "Jack Sparrow" Dent, but you can call me Enrico Fermi.
I am running for public office on five basic platforms (commonly referred to, by myself, as "pillars"):
1. Close the Town of Odyssey (one of the Town Hall forums that has long run its course)
2. Abolish Cherry Duckies (the filter, not the forum)
3. Bring Back Politics 101 (a delightful little politics thread by our very own Jared Walczak)
4. Kill All the Food (the new and improved War on Food)
5. Restore the Walczak (Jared's last name, which we've come to know and love)
These are explained further on my campaign thread.
Soon Thorin Oakenshield (the great Master Dwarf) and Mellow Boy (the great... uh... Mellow Boy) will come and try to convince you against my campaign. Don't listen to them. I'm right. They're wrong.
Just kidding. But at least consider voting for me.
And welcome to the great Town Hall, where those who enter... oh, never mind. |

Well you could have thought this was a board about pottery making. Some pottery makers are sane. (Others are raised by wolves.) So if you come to the Town Hall accidently because you were looking for a board about pottery making you may be sane, but if you continue to post here then congradulations and felicitations and all that rubbish. You're insane!
