Hi there!  I am new, so thought I would say hi and say how totally great I think this place is. I love AIO, but everything seems aimed at a younger audience these days , so when I stumbled apon this place today and saw that it involved a slightly higher age group, I was thrilled when I realized that I was not the only aging fan!
I feel funny, like I should be whispering this, but.......I am 22 (moment of silence) and I have become with age a AIO fan behind closed doors--I think you older members know what I mean---we still own all of the albums and buy the new ones, but they are no longer kept all shiny and arranged in order prominently displayed in full view of any newcomers, instead they are now stored shiny and in order.....behind cupboard doors!!!!!! I no longer go running to my friend's house when I buy a new album.........and sometimes when I buy the new album, I.........

I don't know if I should be admitting this to you so soon.........but sometimes........I
.......I tell the sales clerk I am buying them for my little kid sister!!!!!!! Oooooh the shame! 
So now that my little dark secret is out, hopefully I won't be shunned and I will still be welcomed to the community, and maybe even someday I will be popular enough to run for mayor  . (Well, maybe I will win a contest, and I can be mayor for day, lol.)
Uuuuuuuuhhhhhhh, so anyways. I always feel conceited telling people about myself---like you don't have anything better to do with your time. But is there is anything you MUST know, feel free to ask, because I on the other hand have all the time in the world (I have a machine, it's great) So, please drop a line, or a volume, and I look forward to getting to know all you cool Odyssians. And if anyone doesn't mind, fill me in on this whole election thing--I am fairly new to the interent, and blonde to boot, so I'm not quite with it. Oh-and if you want me to vote for you----I take bribes  !!!!!!! (JK,....I only take really good ones!)

The election: the Town of Odyssey has been kinda dying... Not many peolpe go there very often. If you read past posts you might see some of the events which led to this. There's a few people running for mayor, no election date, and no voters. So, vote for Arthur Dent because he will close the Town of Odyssey, which is dying anyway. |

Vote for Thorin Oakenshield. He won't do any unnecessary forum destruction unless they're really and truly necessary(which, in this case, is not). :wink:

Still, regardless of the rate, we expect you to keep your campaign promise. Personally, I have my doubts about whether you actually will give everyone who votes for you the equivalent of a Monopoly dime (????) per year. :wink:
However, if you want someone who will do everything he can in the best interest of the Town Hall public, vote for Arthur Dent, as my campaign manager so nicely mentioned!
(BTW, Thorin is a newbie. If you want someone who has experience with the Town Hall AND running forums - although as mayor you don't really have to run a forum  - then vote Arthur Dent for mayor!) |
