(non-fans are discriminated)

I'm a HUGE star wars fan. I know alot about what is happening in star wars ep.3 . I have more then 60 action figures. I have alot of their books, and i watch their movies every week. I'm also a BIG fan of Lord of the Rings. I've read all the books, I have action figures, I have the Extened DVD Version of the Fellowship of the Ring and am planning to get the Two Towers in November when the Extended Version of that is released on DVD.
STAR WARS AND LOTR ROX!!!!!!

If you have any questions about either(sw/lotr), i'm sure i can answer the questions. Also i wouldn't say star wars is unchristian, if you watch the movies, there are some spiritual themes. Same goes with lord of the rings.
Also if you want news on the next installment of star wars(ep3), visit my website and go to the star wars page. My website: http://dear.to/zadwars .
let's talk about the movies, books, games, here in this forum. If you have any questions, feel free to ask them.

Moderator's Note: The Lord of the Rings discussion has been split from this thread.

I'm a huge Star Wars fan as well, but I absolutely don't think it's Christian. Sure, it has a lot of Christian themes, but it also has a lot of Budist, Hindu, Islamic, etc. themes. I don't think it's anti-Christian but it's definately not Christian.

I'm a huge "Lord of the Rings" fan, my favorite part being "The Return of the King." I'm somewhat a "Star Wars" fan, though I think "The Phantom Menace" was horrible, though "Attack of the Clones" was a little better

The Phantom menace didn't present him well, but I still chose Darth Maul over Darth Vader or palpatine because of the Darth Maul comics, and the book "Shadow Hunter".

Although now that I think about the comic books "Dark Empire" and "Dark Empire II" I'm starting to thijnk that maybe I should have chosen Palpatine.

BTW, has Dooku ever been mentioned anywhere in Star Wars outside of Episode 2 and perhaps some books written after the release of 2?

I really enjoyed TPM. Yeah, JAR JAR gets on your nerves and the kid who plays Anakin can't act worth anything, but I thought the pod race was awesome and the light saber duel at the end was great! Duel of the Fates is one of my favorite Star Wars themes. I hope they use it for the final duel between Obi wan and Anakin in SWIII.

Personally, I think the prequels would have worked better if AOTC was the first movie. Anakin should have started out as a young man, fallen in love with Padme, and then you have 3 films to develope the love story and the rise and fall of Anakin. TPM really didn't advance the story at all, now you have only two films to cram the love story, the clone wars and Anakin turning to the dark side. I think the love story between Ani and Padme was a bit rushed in ATOC making their marriage harder to believe.

Also, in SWIV Obi wan tells Luke that when he met his father, he was already a great fighter pilot. When Obi met Ani, he was about eight years old, hardly a great fighter pilot. I think Lucas's original plan was to make Ani a young man when Obi and he met, not a little kid.

About Ani being conceived without a father, I watched TPM and Shmi tells Qui gon, "There was no father. I carried him, gave birth to him and raised him. I can't explain it." Since Anakin was "the chosen one" the Force seems to be the one to have impregnated Shmi.

Why is Jango Fett listed in the poll when Boba Fett isn't? Not that I'd vote for Boba Fett anyway...but I'm just curious. He's concidered a great villian by a lot of people. Why? I don't know. Maybe it's just because a guy like Han Solo needs a personal enemey. Oh well.

I really like Star Wars, but I'm not an extream fan or anything. I mean, sure, I could talk about the movies for hours and I soak up any bit of information about the plotline of Eposode III. But I'm not, like, obsessed with it or anything. No action figures, no games (well, I think my step-brother has a Star Wars vidio game somewhere...I've never played it) and none of the other little extras. Except the books, I love the books. Only set of Star Wars books I don't like is "The Black Fleet Crisis" since that one conflicts with the prequels...

Of course, as a dedicated fan (not extream mind you, but dedicated) I do have fairly detailed chacter analysses written up in my head. (Havn't put them to paper yet, but they really come in handy to judge everything I see about Star Wars) I do this with most fandoms...but that's not the point.

The point is...I think I'm gonna go vote the poll now.

I'm writing a Star Wars fanfiction right now- I could send it to you if you want! But be warned, it's silly. Wink

Regarding the books about Count Dooku/Darth Tyrannus. He's in the new Boba Fett series, although I haven't read that series(it's more for a younger audience). He's alsi in this other new novel, i forget the name of it. And then of course he's in the books(adult+kid versions) of the episode 2 movie. The reason why I put Jango Fett, not Boba Fett, is because Boba Fett is an unaltered clone of Jango. The action figures i have for lord of the rings are: Gandalf, Gimli, Legolas, Frodo, Sam, Aragorn, King Theoden, a ringwraith. Have any of you guys seen the Extended Version of The Fellowship of the Ring? Don't forget The Two Towers comes out next Tuesday(Augest 26). Also if you want to know more stuff about star wars episode 3, check out my star wars page on my website and if you want to learn even more stuff then the stuff that's there, email me and i'll send you some other information.
