There was early discussion of having the election near the end of this month. However, I was talking to Hawkeye's campaign manager of last year (and presumably of this year...?), Elf of Rivendell, and, to give everyone time to campaign, she supports a later elections date.
I'm open to several options and would be interested in hearing what the other candidates think on this issue. |

Dare I ask:
How LONG is a mayor's time in office? |

I think the general idea was about six months. This six month period will be over on July 14th...
If the vote were held before that, I suppose (but this is not confirmed) that, were I to lose (a terrible thought! ), I would retain office until July 14th, at which point my successor would take office.
I've been talking with a few people, though, and there seems to be a mid-July election consensus thus far (I have not spoken to everyone yet, so fellow candidates, if I haven't discussed this with you yet, please know that I am not ignoring you). The campaign manager for one candidate will be gone until the 15th and asked if elections could be held at the end of that week. If we did this, the winning individual would immediately take office, as my term would technically have expired a few days before.
Is that problematic? I don't think so, but some may oppose it. As I said, I'm open to suggestions and ideas from the other candidates... |
