Fellow citizens, I come before you to announce my intention to seek reelection to the office of mayor. In the nearly five months in which I have served as your mayor, improvements have been made. We now have a chat room and new board features. Seventy new individuals have joined the Town Hall.
As your mayor, I have worked tirelessly to ensure that the boards remain acceptable for all, devoting a significant amount of time to this task. Now, with this first term coming to a close, I ask your help as I seek reelection.
The task is just begun. There remains much work to do. Much has been accomplished; still more awaits. President Theodore Roosevelt wrote that in the spirit of determination, one must strive "never to abandon any task once begun until it has been brought to a successful and triumphant conclusion." I do not intend to do otherwise. With your help, together, we will get the job done.
A battle lies ahead. No vote is sure, no outcome guaranteed. Voting is imperative. Whether you vote for me or one of my worthy opponents, I strongly encourage you to get out and vote. For unless you do, the town is not really yours. The mayor not really your mayor. As President Rutherford B. Hayes observed, "To vote is like the payment of a debt - a duty never to be neglected, if its performance is possible."
Furthermore, I ask you to take your vote seriously and vote with conviction for the candidate who you feel is the most qualified and able to lead this town and this board forward. A famous actor once commented, "I never vote for anyone. I always vote against." I encourage you to not make his mistake. I ask that you vote for a candidate, not just against one. Not just as a reflexive or reactive vote. Make your decision carefully and make the right decision. I say that with all honesty. It is my hope that after weighing the evidence, you will choose to give me a second term. But more importantly, vote for whomever you think is best for the job.
In the upcoming weeks, campaigning will shift into high gear, with all candidates swinging into action. Amidst the excitement, hustle and bustle, I ask you to consider: is the Town Hall better today than it was five months ago?
Election day looms nigh. To those who oppose me, I ask you to give me a chance to prove myself to you. To those as of yet undecided, I ask you to look at my record. And to my supporters, I say that we have been here before. And we won. Let's do it again.

Believe it or not, so-called "bla bla bla"'s are more effective for gathering voters than demonstrating your expertise in the area of chicken dancing. |

I believe Jared to be the best candidate for the job for the following reasons:
1) He has personal experience as mayor.
2) He has a campaign headquarters website -- something most other candidates for Odyssey's mayor wouldn't take time to produce
3) He is the most trustworthy AIO person I know.
Now don't we all agree? |

Elf has a point there. We need a mayor who has experience and is knowledgable. Exactly, we need someone who doesn't believe in brutally cutting others down only to further their own interests (note: there is a big difference between cutting others down, and debating their points.) No offence intended. |

Uhm... No. I dont agree.
Jared's point on what he has done are what he as an admin should be doing already. They are not mayorial jobs, but Admin jobs. He is confusing the two. A mayor will work the budget, a bring in jobs, and generally ensure the town keeps runing smoothly. None of which he has actually done. Instead, he is too busy being kidnapped, pondering the mening of life and smiles, and bragging about what he allegedly does on sites that retract from him doing his REAL job!. DO you really think he has done a god job? And what does being a trustworthy AIO person have to do with anything?
We need a MAYOR, not a man with a title. Vote for me for Mayor! I will serve the position. |
