The main reason I'm not running is because I got my hands on SimCity 3000. I was Mayor Blackgaard, my town was Odyssey, and I set it on easy. They gave me 50 K, and within two years I had the city in a budget deficit. Within five years, we were 85,000 in debt, with ten loans outstanding. So I had to wait another seven years until the loans finished, just to take out more loans. After that, I decided that under no circumstances would it be wise for me to run.

I played SimCity 3000... and I actually ran a great city with a lot of yearly surplus. I couldn't believe it. Oh yeah, and the city was named Odyssey, too... we's got somethin' in common, buddy.

I once became Mayor Riley and City name Odyssey. Used several cheats boosted up city land value rates with millions of parks, got mostly dense dense dense, no loans, high wayed, rail roaded, avenued, and mostly un Odyssey like metropolis. Very Happy

hehe... well now my city has a few thousand surplus a year. It was hard though. I always use a starter town and connect the roads to our neighbors. Minimum schools, FD, PD, colleges... It's funny to see people saying, "Mayor Blackgaard, we're out of money. How do you respond to rumours that you've used the money to build your own private amusement park?"

SimCity 3000 is the best. All you have to do is a have a high landvalue. This is easily accomplished my putting tons and tons of parks everywhere/

What's landvalue have to do with it? I've never noticed that you had to have parks.... What happens if you do? Population, money, what?

Plus, I kept making disasters happen. My favourite is earthquake and UFO. I like to put them together, just for the fun of it. So while the earthquake is lasting for FIVE DAYS (seriously, it did one time), UFOs are zapping stuff. Hahaha, look at that! It zapped the schools and the police station and the Fire department and HEY! that was my house!
