Shed no tears, good elf! The Top Crusader sensed wrestling discussion and came running!!

Anyway, I watch WWE and like it decently enough... they have really cleaned up their act over the past few years... for a while there it was really just horrible. The era that Magnus mentioned, I'm more fond of then today's stuff. I never really watched WWF/E regularly until WCW was sold, however.

I'd say the greatest time in wrestling was about 96-98 or so in WCW with the rise of the nWo and Hogan, Hall, Nash, Sting, Luger, Giant, Savage, DDP, Flair, Goldberg and others being the main headliners...

I don't like the current product nearly as much, but guys like Shawn Michaels, Flair, Benoit, Jericho, Big Show (Giant) and up to recently Goldberg, have kept me interested.

I've never ordered the NWA:TNA payperviews, but they have a recap show I watch once in a while, and quite a few WCW/ECW guys ended up there, including Sting and Luger once in a while. They have some great matches over there, but the production quality is pretty pitiful compared to the WWE.

I actually started watching wrestling around that time. Must have been 1998 I think... nWo was around, Goldberg was at win 50 something, Sting would fly from helicopters down to the ring, and I remember a classic best of seven between Benoit and Booker T. Over at the WWF, DX was mocking the Nation of Domination, everyone hated the Rock, though right from the moment I saw him he was one of my favorite wrestlers... Stone Cold was extremely popular, and Mankind was doing death defying leaps from tops of cages. Test and Stephanie's "marriage" with Triple H marrying her first... I loved it. I even ran a wrestling website! (this was prior to my Soda Fountain days). Friends used to make jokes when I couldn't do something on a Monday night because I had to watch wrestling... it was a good time.

But after a couple years... I started missing a few shows here and there, and eventually just didn't care. When I tuned in again and saw that Kurt Angle was pushed to the top, I couldn't believe it. The guy, to me, had no charisma whatsoever and was completey unlikable. The product was filled with boring characters, WCW was in turmoil, and Goldberg was nowhere to be seen. I remember I used to even follow the production of wrestling video games from start to finish, and couldn't wait to pick up the newest game. These days, I wouldn't be able to name the last 5 wrestling games released.

It's a shame. I used to like it so much... now I just don't care at all ;)

I cried when I watched Wrestlemania. What does that tell you?

Shawn Micheals and Chris Benoit make an awsome tag-team! Too bad they'll be fighting eachother at backlash...as long as they keep that title away from Tripple H. (I swear...he and that title are like Gollem and the one ring.)

and as for Smackdown...well...I can't stand Kurt Angle anymore. He use to be cool...but now...what's with this prejedious against mexicians? Seriously...to me, nothing would be more funny then for Kurt Angle to learn, in the ring, that he has latino heratage.

Yes, I love the WWE.
