I was just wondering what kind of OS you people use. Mine are MacOS X.1.5, MacOS 9.2.2, and Windows 98. SmileI usually use MacOS X. Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes

You also forgot:

Dos 1.0
Dos 2.0
Dos 3.0
Dos 4.0
Dos 5.0
Dos 6.0
Dos 7.0
Lindows
Windows 1.0 (I've never seen it, but I isume there was one, I believe it was only used in large businesses or something.)
Windows 2.0
Windows 3.0
Windows 3.11 (the more popular one..)
Windows 95B
Windows 95C
Windows 98 OS2
Windows 2000 pro.
Linux
Windows XP pro.

And my operating system, Windows Miliniem Edition (ME) I have the home version, but I believe there is also a professional eddition....I'm not sure about that though, I've heard Windows 2000 reffered to as the prefessional version of Windows ME. Anyhow, don't feel too bad, only a full time geek knows this stuff, and there wasn't that many poll options anyway. Wink

Yes, those that use it have told me that Windows 2000 is the best so far.

I currently have Windows 98... I tried to upgrade to 2000 once, and it totally screwed up my computer, and I couldn't listen to music or go online or anything cause the drivers weren't right. I ended up having to reformat the whole thing to get it working again.

I have heard that (once it is working properly) 2000 is pretty good, but you can't play a bunch of games on it. Most people I know prefer XP.

There are only four options. Maybe I should have made the WIN98 to 2000 though. I just posted the popular OSs. And Dr.Blackgaard, you forgot WIN ME in your list.

And then there is OS/2, and a whole list of other mostly obscure OSs...

Dr Blackgaard: Lindows is ok, but to be honest, it is only a pre release of Xandros (formerly Corel) with Macromedia's(?) (proprietary) version of Wine.... The only real thing I can tell they did for Lindows is that software warehouse and one click install (can you say .RPM?). But even the Software warehouse is a rip off, because a little investigation reveals all the software they offer is freely available on the net....

I know, it is an OS, and you were listing what you know.....

Samwise, check www.distrowatch.com for (nearly) every major distro of Linux/BSD known to man kind..... (a good 60 there)
