awesome. we got the 2 Hussein sons dead. they were evil. tortured people. the news said they would kill Girlfriends if acted wrong. I was like who would wanna date them but the ladies prob had no choice. 2 people in hell for being evil. I wonder what they think now. prob though they were serving Allah good and are going to reward but instead hell forever. and what does saddam think ?? he prob will say america is evil and his sons are in Heaven at Allah's side and Iraq will beat america. I wonder if he actually believes his garbage or he is a big liar
but those 2 are dead. |

| I dunno, I heard Hussein and his family weren't really religious... except when it suited them. |

I've been following this story since the first rumors of it appeared at about 11:30 AM. I watched the White House press conference to see if any mention of it was there (McClellan demurred from the question), followed various news outlets to see what sources they had... By 1 PM, it was all but confirmed.
Now it's confirmed.
Forgive my not feeling sorry for two individuals deaths, but... I don't feel sorry at all. My only regret here is that we did not capture them alive, as I would have liked the government to have a chance to extract information. As it is, though, I'm glad we at least got them. I'm also glad that it sounds as if the bodies are in viewable condition, which is a huge plus.
People in Iraq are still afraid Saddam and his regime will come back. If all that was left was charred bodies unrecognizable without DNA tests or other scientific data, they may not believe the two to be dead. But if Iraqi TV can show pictures of the two bodies -- and gruesome as that thought is, I expect that they will... there is not near the attempt at shielding "disturbing images" from the public in the middle east as there is here -- the case is made.
Speaking of hiding images and such, I'm tired of it. Perhaps you haven't noticed not noticing it, so to speak, but I doubt any of you have seen actual video of the 9/11 attacks since early spring 2002, if not before. That video is now hidden. We are deemed "not able" to view that. It might be too "difficult" to see. Sure, it's not pleasant viewing and I don't want it playing over and over again, but every once in a while, I think the American people, known for their short attention span, need a reminder.
On the fourth of July, many networks put together selections about getting past 9/11... but to me, getting past it involves wiping those who caused it and may cause such atrocities in the future off the face of the earth. So, in my mind, they should have shown the video of the towers falling and of bodies falling through the air from the top windows of the tours just once, with a caption: "This is why we fight."
But no, that would be too... patriotic. Too... pro-administration. Too... anti-those who want to kill us.
Can't have that.
Anyway, it's good to know that Saddam's sons are no more. And with Idi Amin in a coma, it's been a bad week for dictators. Next up, Saddam? |

If you think about it, Saddam must be extremmely intelligent. His friends, allies, sons, workers...etc...all get caught sooner or later. When I look back and re-think all of what's happening, it reminds me all too well of the game of chess. You slice away the ponds, defeat the rooks, kill the bishops...And now for the prize: The king.

In a way I'm kinda sad they died without knowing Christ. We all know they deserve eternal punishment but everyone also deserves a chance to know the one true God.When you think about all the people THEY killed without a chance to hear the Word it really makes you sick. |
