Thank you, Coralfish, for providing this question:
If elected to the mayoral office, is there a particular politician in history that perhaps you might desire to emulate in some way (whether it be policy or actions or the like?) |

[b]What do you feel the duties of Mayor are? How do you plan on fulfilling those duties?

As far as I know there really aren't any particular 'duties' as mayor on this site, except to just keep the 'town' running and not let it keep having those dead-spells where nobody posts. I'll try to be active in the 'community' and visit all the shops and bussiness often and give them my support.
actually I think, even though this is not a ussualy requirement for mayors, that one of the duties should be to entertain. I have already displayed a sample of some of that 'entertainment'. |

And what I believe will be the last question is specifically for Hawkeye from Susie:
Hawkeye - Do your plans to improve this board go any further than your several vague posts imply?
Thank you, everyone, for sending in your questions and making this thread a success. |

George Washington, perhapse. Not certain.

Improving the board is the admin's and/or owner's job. I am neither, and thus will only do mayorial duties, if elected. My posts are no more vague than they need to be, as I cannot forsee what tommorrow holds, therfore I cannot make promises concerning tommorrow.
Why do I feel that question was a setup?
Not even Jared, the one who is an admin and improving the board makes promises of what he intends to do. |

I know I'm slightly late, but I'd like to take some time to answer the question on which politician(s) I wish to emulate and also to briefly respond to Hawkeye.
There is no one politician I'd desire to be exactly like, but there are traits of many that I admire and would wish to emulate. I would wish to have the steadfastness of belief of current Senators McConnell, Santorum, Nickles.
I want the insistence to get things done of former Senator Lyndon Johnson (although certainly not the policy of this individual). I'd love to have the oratorical skills of the old Triumvirate of the Senate: Webster, Clay and Calhoun.
I admire the political strength of Ronald Reagan, the personal morals of John Adams. I won't bore anyone by going on further.
And on to the other issue at hand:

Yes, actually I have, and since you bring the point up, I am posting an image and details of one project nearing completion (delayed by the fact that I have a friend here until Friday afternoon). Details here.
Hawkeye: do you still say I have no plans? (Well, yes, you probably will.)
And finally, I'd like to thank Josiah for taking the time to moderate this debate! |
