You oughta take up the use of nunchakus... though I would advise starting with foam ones rather than wood or metal. Confused

nunchucks... I've seen a friend of mines younger freind teacher my friends older brother how to use those... they're quite interesting. I sort of want to learn teakwondo. It would be usefull, espesially in this town....

Jared, sure you can kick. But that sort of kick wouldn't do anything against someone who knew how to fight. They'd see it comeing and block you. Or even if they didn't, it wouldn't really do as much harm to them, and would probably not nock them down. Hey, why not a two footed kick? It would do more good!! Oh, but you'd have to take classes to learn that, now wouldn't you!

My point is, anyone can fight. But not just anyone can take down a black belt.

My point is that if the other individual is a violent criminal with a gun, it really doesn't matter whether or not you are trained in the art of kicking.

Actually, its entire possible to take a gun away from a criminal. Of course, some of them involve breaking his finger, but hey, he gets what he gets, right? And then of course you could kick the gun out of his hand with one lightening move! (If you were a master, that is...)

As to the original question, I'm not entirely sure where I stand on yoga. As an exercise tool, it could be great, but anything deeper, and I'd be very very wary.

Ok, you're probably right. But there are some exceptions.

Also, not everyone would have a gun. What about a knife? That's different. I think it is certainly very usefull to learn how to fight. Sad unfortunately... *sob* I can't.
