Lately, we've had problems with the spamming of PM accounts. By spamming, I mean unsolicited Private Messages advertising or trying to sway voters for whatever wonderfull must-see poll or election is in the making.

I'm putting a cap on things here. Don't do it. It's annoyingly bad manners, and it takes up an unreasonable amount of bandwidth. If you want to PM someone, that's just fine. Private Messages are meant for having private conversations that no one except the Admins can see (and we almost never look, unless there's trouble). We fully support using PMs for just that.

On the other hand, if your account is caught spamming, your PM privileges will be revoked. And, since I really don't want to have to do that to anyone, let's keep things within the above guidelines, alright?

If the person you're sending it to hasn't explicitly allowed you to send such ads.
