I'm always like the last person to post on these things! Anyways....I'm a girl, and can be a tomboy, just to clear that up right away. Smile I do appreciate chivalry, it's really the Christian thing to do too.

At my school, it's great, because there's several different buildings, and when it's cold and rainy, it's nice to see some guy hold the door open, even if it means they have to stand outside longer.

At my church's youth group, when we get to the snacks, the guys always get in line first, but there's a couple who step out of line to let us girls go. (Not if they're like half-way through, but just at the beginning, you know.)

I do think that they need to be thanked though. I always do, even if it's someone I don't know. (Which happens at school from time to time, not knowing everyone yet.) If the guys are going to wait, or do something nice, thanks is needed!

Another thing, if I ever date, (far in the future) I'm not going to want to spend a evening with someone who acts like he doesn't care if I have to do everything! When God gave Adam Eve, he wanted him to watch out for her too!

As an after thought though....what about girls holding doors? I know I've done it, if I happen to be the first person through a door, I'll hold it. So, would the proper thing be to hand it over to the first guy I see, and expect them to hold it? Just something to think about...

Heh, I always seem to be the last one to post also, bearliz. :P

I personally am flattered when guys open the door for me. My parents have always tought my brothers to open the doors for us (my sister and I), and any other girl or woman.

It almost makes me mad, to think about the women who get mad when men hold the door for them. I understand that some may believe that men shouldn't have to do everything for them, but I don't think women should get bent out of shape, over a man holding the door for them. Or doing anything else that has to do with chivalry. Razz (okay, I'm blabbering!)

And to answer your question, Bearliz, I hold the door for other people. I find that common courtesy... but I do find myself holding it for more than the amount of people I intended, thankfully, guys usually notice, and take over holding the door.

Okay, really, I'm done.
